For once i agree with callum too. If you feel that your relationship with your boyfriend is strong enough to stick around with or without parental judgement then go for it. Soon enough they will realise that it is serious, and that you are not abashed by their attempts. Can i ask what it is they dont like / what they have been trying to do?
