I all situations asking for advice, details are always a good idea. You might get advice on the wrong thing is you're vague, or people might change their advice if they knew a detail you didn't think was important. People have different definitions of 'the bases' and other euphamisms, so it is generally better to use clear terms like fingering. I don't know what you mean by reaction, obviously I could make guesses, but people in general don't want to waste their time giving advice based on a guess, and the advice is more likely to be bad or irrelevent.
