Well, all I can say to this is that both of them deserve a good ole dump. They weren't your only friends hopefully, so if I were you, the next word out of my mouth would be: "NEXT!"
Plus, this situation proves that neither of them are worth a shit, plus it's against my personal mantra (I don't know about yours) to ever beat yourself up about something you couldn't help happening. Basically, yes. Icy silence.
