I need help

please tell me if im being stupid, but i was at a party last night and i caught my girlfriend smoking, i feel so upset and let down, and i am in need of any advice if anyone can help me. thanks

So you didn't know she smoked?

Have a chat with her, find out if she's been doing it for long, it might have just been a one-off.
It isn't exactly considerate if she's been doing it behind your back is it.

Ew. I dont blame you for being a bit grossed out but if she smoked heavily you probably would of noticed. Does she show any of the usual signs eg bad breath, yellow fingers/teeth, Hang around with smokers? Anything like that?

But if you dont like her smoking you should be open about it but mature, dont throw a hissy fit or anything.

Well, I can see how that would make you upset...seeing someone you care about deteriorate their health slowly... But you know, you cant control what others do, not even your gf...Have a talk with her, and tell her how it makes you feel. Ask her if she's willing to make an agreement about it. If she's addicted, support her in quitting, if she so chooses. From experience, it's really hard to quit. Understand that, and empathize with her. If she chooses not to quit, dont judge her. Just ask her not to do it around you. And if it bothers you that much, maybe look for someone who doesnt smoke? Try any one of those things before shutting her out though.

If you want her to stop...
Ask her...
If she dont quit...
and you really truely love her..
Dont break up over something like that..
Let her figure out that you dont like kissing an ash-tray...

But.... It's her choice on weather or not she wants to quit....
You just cant MAKE her quit cold turkey....
