What makes a best friend?

i think a best friend is someone who will be there for you no matter what and don't stab them behind thier back and gossiping. having a laugh and enjoying one's company. do you think it's more than that?

I dont know, i have lots of close friends but not a best one. I used too but we drifted apart.

But i suppose itd have to be someone who knows you really well, can tell at a glance if your upset. The kind of person who will cancel a night out and come tell you what a stupid moron your ex bf is when your heartbroken after finishing with them, that sort of thing.

My best friend is like.. amaze. I trust him with my life and I know he won't let me down. We get annoyed with eachother but I love him like family and I feel 100% comfortable around him, and we -always- have a laugh together. I'd do anything for him and I know he'd do the same for me. He's the brother I never had. And I love him :)

I think a best friend is someone who you can always turn to for anything...someone who you can ALWAYS have a laugh with, whether alone or with other people... someone who you love as a friend no matter what their faults lol because you 2 are so loyal to each other. Like xMissIzzyx said someone who you are 100% comfortable around...someone you could tell anything to. Someone who you can imagine being your best friend for life :) and someoene who you can trust easily without a shadow of a doubt in your mind. I think thats what a best friend is

The way i would define a best friend. is. My best friend.
we are two opposites. lol.

someone you can trust. go to for anything.
and if you need advice. they tell you what you need to hear not wat u want to hear.
the truth hurts. but it hurts more to be lied to and find out it was a lie later.
someone who will stick it out with you when every other "friend" turns their backs on you.

my best friend and i are best friends because we say wat we think to eachother. if shes gettin on my nerves .. i tell her "shut up bitch ur annoying" n if i am she tells me.. n if we say sumthin offensive its like "hey zip it that hurt" type of thing.. u kno?
n if its a relationship type thing.. then shell tell me what i need 2 hear not wat i want 2 hear. she prepares me for the worst while still giving me hope.

Yeah I agree, there is also trust, honestly, loyalty, caring, compassion, being there through thick and thin come hell or high water, to never betray their trust or stab them in the back people who don't talk about you behind your back and are man or woman enough to say it to your face because a true friend to me is also someone who tells the truth and doesn't sugarcoat it.
Even if bitches tell the truth and it hurts, whatever at least you're not lying.

I've never really had a best friend. I've had a lot of close friends though and still do. I think a best friend is someone you can come to with anything you have ot say and they understand how you feel. And they'll always be there for you.
