I would do a full review for this, but i'm not feeling too good right now and i really can't be arsed, so here's my brief thoughts on it:
I saw the full uncut '18' rated version, as opposed to the UK's cut '15' rated theatrical version, and yes it's pretty gory, but while there's nothing particularly wrong with the film, it is EXACTLY the same as the 1986 original, except instead of Rutger Hauer's menacing portrayal of John Ryder, you get Sean Bean's laughable "American" accent (if you've seen 'Silent Hill', you know what to expect). The car crashes are just stupidly OTT that it's not even funny (you can practically see the ramps that pop up to make the car flip a million times, lol). Save yourself the price of the cinema ticket and just watch the original version next time it's on ITV4, you aren't missing anything, especially considering that most of the gore has probably been edited from the UK version anyway.
That said, Sophia Bush looks damn fine in that mini skirt :naughty:
