I had trouble in finding a job! I was a Paper boy and now a Cleaner for Tesco's, which i really do enjoy! Employers look for people with a National Insurance Number which you get 3 months before your Birthday, this protects employer when you inflict an injury etc. I had to look very very hard for a job, but honestly your hard work does pay off, If i were you i'd look through you local Newspapers for job vacancies and also ask your parents to talk to Family friends about any jobs going anywhere, thats how i found mine! Things are easier to find through word of mouth!

Hope this helps! :D

Some people can get a basic job before they are 16, like working in a small shop or something. Don't worry, they won't laugh at you. Ask in local shops like local bakeries and stuff. Build up some courage and you will be fine. :)

my advice is to not get a job unless you really need one. its not fun when you actually get to start workin. the hours, it limits your fun and eveyrthing.
whatever flows your boat though, if you still wanna work, apply anywhere you can. I'm sure when theres someplace that needs people, they'll cal you.

Yeah I echo what Jess says, look in local shops and things. But not 'chain' stores if you know what I mean, just independently run ones.

The chain stores often will not recruit anyone under the age of 16, and in some cases under the age or 18.

If you've got a local newsagents as well, they tend to display available jobs in the area in the window.

If this fails, how do you feel about babysitting?

I'm painfully shy usually, haha. Unless I'm around someone I'm comfortable with, but believe me, by looking for a job you will build up your confidence so much. I don't think I was even that shy when asking, I just went in and it all just came out of my mouth automatically because I knew nothing bad could actually happen, and its not like they'd remember it for the rest of their lives if you did something stupid as they probably get so many people being stupid anyway it just goes over their heads (I tend to say the most rediculous things when nervous)

im very much like you then lol :P
i always end up coming out with something ridiculously stupid though... or something really embararrasing lol :P thats probably why im known as a typical dosy blonde xD
i joined cadets to help with my confidence and it seemed to have worked a bit but im still shy... but ah well gotta overcome this silly shyness to get a job! ill give it a go and see what happens...

hello...

if, its the mater of some earnings, then i never suggest a JOB (Just Over Broke), rather trade it in for a YOB (Your Own Business)!!

why not to try SFI (String Future International)... you'll be the boss of your own, with excellent incomes, security n freedom.

...you can try from the link, given at my signature.

goodluck.

Ask friends and family who own businesses first.

This isn't always true, some places hire at 15, I got a job at KFC at only 15. It is pretty hard to find a job sometimes, especially when you are a guy. I find alot of places are sexist when it comes to hiring younger people.

We hired a guy about 3 weeks ago who's 15 and isn't 16 'til August, he's working about 25 hours a week as a shop assistant.
