techno has two meanings -- it's funny -- for europeans they mean

stuff with no vocals, really underground "hard" stuff -- for

americans, when they say "techno", often they mean what in europe is

called "dance". And "dance" in europe is a lot more mainstream and

pop-oriented

for "american" style techno (i.e. european "dance"), the best example

I disagree, Techno in Europe, is like a shitty Trance spinoff that consists of a horrible synth thats used in pretty much every track...its all very samey and boring not to mention irritataing. Two fine examples of how bad it is are Cascada and Scooter.

If we were talking about underground 'hard stuff' with no lyrics, it would be Hard House, DarkCore, Dubstep...but techno is in no way hard...its for wannabe ravers.

When i was in america, to anyone who wasnt into electronic music, techno was the name for any of it, dance, trance, house, whatever. The people who were into it knew the different sub-genres...and id imagine thats pretty much the general over there.

And do you work for itunes or something? you seem to be a lil obsessed.
