I noticed there are quite a few footie fans on here, but how many of you actually play for a team?
I play right back, right wing and up front for a team called Guestling Rangers, last season was our last in youth football and next season we will be playing in the East Sussex League, but we've been entered in the bottom division, so it should be a laugh!

Holywell Village FC :) We too have entered the bottom division.. But our league has a rule that if you win the league by 20 points or more, you get promoted 2 divisions.. so wont take us long

Our team is kinda messed up at the mo, we have no goalkeeper, a reluctant manager and about 14 players who are under 18 and 3 who are 35+, this season really should be fun! :D

Don't play for a team myself no. Have you ever played for a team or school? Or do you just enjoy playing with mates etc?

Have you ever played for a team or school? Or do you just enjoy playing with mates etc?I trained up to the age of about 13/14 with our local team Stocksbridge Park Steels (http://www.spsfc.co.uk/) who are in the Unibond First Division South (South o_O) then played for my school team 'til I left school. Never really carried it on after that.
I've always had kickabouts with mates though at weekends and stuff :)

I'm guessing you didn't notice we're talking about Football, not American football where you hardly ever use your feet ;) But yeah, If I played American Football I'd probably go for this position as you need to be very quick and have good agility :)

Well I got my first league game today against Herstmonceux II, can't wait, problem is we haven't got a decent goalie, so we can attack very well, but we'll probably let in stupid goals because of our keeper
Fingers crossed I play Right Mid and not bloody Right Back!!!!!

If you've seen the teams in our league, you'll know why, half of them can hardly kick a ball.

For some teams I'm not lol, they really are that bad. There is a big gap from Division 1 to Division 4... It's like the Prem and the Conference (Stating the obvious). And we should be in Division 2.

Haha, we won 7-0, looks like we could be going up as we still haven't got our full team back from Holidays etc :D

We have the roughest team in the League tomorrow, last time we played them, it was in a cup match. Their pitch had beer cans, broken glass and the remains of a bonfire, it was kind of like a football pitch but with no grass, just pure mud. We won 5-0, however the match ended up in the ref (wasn't a proper ref) pushing one of our players. So you could kind of understand a few pre-match nerves eh?

Pannal Sports. Played there for 6/7 seasons now and I'm a striker. Scored over 200 goals in my time at Pannal in both 7 and 11 a side.
Just played a game tonight against the under 17's and drew 2-2 but should have won really...
Football is my life!

Good lad, I'd like to see some more people posting in the footy sections, to say it's so popular there's only about 4/5 people that post.

Scored 2 on Sunday but still lost 3-2. We've been conceding too many soft goals early on combined with awful first halves and then get better and pull goals back second. We've lost our opening 3 games now in a season of high expectation. Hopefully things will turn soon...
