A little about me + Where were you born?

I was born in Mousul, Iraq. I came to Canada about 12 years ago, November 18, 1994. I remember it because it was the greatest day of my life: I had food, clean water, good shelter, and decent clothing. Before that, when we were making our escape to Canada, I was so starved that I nearly died. One of my grandmothers told my mom to just bury me somewhere because I was going to die anyway so they wouldn't have to worry about me, but my mom never gave up on me.

You see, my father was forced into this war... between the North and the South of Iraq, I believe. He was a soldier, but his job was treating everyone psychologically (he was a psychologist). My father was smart enough to get out of his base at the army, gather with our family, and we had a tough trip across Iraq.

When we got out of Iraq, we caught a plane, went across a few countries and took planes from there, and eventually reached Canada. 12 years and I still remember everything like it was yesterday.

So if you would like, post on this and/or state where you were born. It should be interesting to see how diverse these forums are.:)

Oh, and PS, I'm not Muslim- I'm Christian. People keep asking me if I'm Muslim lol.

The city has many celebrities including national icons Torvill and Dean, football legends Viv Anderson and Garry Birtles and England stars such as Jermaine Jenas, Andy Cole, Chris Sutton, Jermaine Pennant and many, many more. Nottingham is bloody well good and the female population of Nottingham has been voted the best looking girls in the country.

Ahh! I was wondering where Sheffield was! The first girl that replied said she was from England though. My friend Liam is Scottish, he's a really good friend of mine. Anyway, I was born in California, near LA. My parents are from Ukraine and so is my older sister. They moved a couple months before I was born. We lived in San Diego, California for about ten years, then moved to Colorado, then to Vermont for some reason for about three months, then back to Colorado. Over the summer we are going to Europe to visit some cousins I have never meet. I hope my parents don't decide to move back!!!
