I've been a bit depressed for a while now, but the thing is, I have no reason to be. I have great friends, a great Spanish looking bf, and my parents split up, but are together again. What's wrong with me?
I cut myself with an art scalpel regularly and I burn my arms with my hair straightener. How can I stop? I see a shrink, he says I have anorexia but I don't think I do...
Please help..

Hey there, what kind of music do you listen to? If you're a fan of the sad 'emo' stuff or some lovely depressing stories, change your style immediately. The second thing is: find a hobby or a job - something to fill your time and draw away your attention. Being alone at home or feeling bored makes you vulnerable to such feelings like depression, sadness etc.

Distract yourself keep busy. Don't be so jaded. Embrace the good in your life and stop thinking about what could be the matter.

Every time you feel the urge too go do someting too yourself start doing something creative like drawing or sketching or writing why how your feeling at that particular moment, what annoys you and what you think about it.
Or start writing poetry or something like that

If your Psychiatrist tells you you are anorexic, it doesn't neccesarily mean you are. They are sometimes hypocritical and judgemental so seeing Psychiatrists probably isn't the best way to go about it.
Have you been eating regularily? Maybe your depression is caused from how you feel about yourself or the fact that someone told you you are anorexic is maybe because you haven't been eating enough? That could cause depression.
Try to stop cutting yourself, and when the idea comes into mind try your best to concentrate on something happy like your boyfriend or your friends, and try calling some of them and talk to them.
Back when I was emo when I was 16, or something like that, I used to cut myself but I stopped and I tried opening up to my mom and it turns out she really helped me out alot. She listened to me and kept what we talked about between the two of us and she told me about alot of her incidents so try talking to your mom about things because it could help, or someone else you trust someone older in your family who you are close to, and remember you have to reason whatsoever to be depressed.
