Proud, or pity?

at the end of the day anyone joining the armed forces whether it be friend or family or w.e you should feel proud because they are putting their life in danger knowing they could get killed so that people like you can walk the streets and not have to worry about it. You should feel proud for whatever decision he makes to do with the armed forces, fairplay to him.

Oh yeahh, all that "You fight for freedom" bull shit that they brain wash you with.
A lot of people see the army as a way out nowadays anyway, if they did shit in their GCSEs.
I don't feel proud of anyone in the armed forces, I think if you fight for a cause you don't support you are just as bad as the men that cause the wars you fight.

First of all the army aint for rejects you need a-levels to enter at office level, infantry are the more drop-outs type but still i got decent grades but my heart has always been with the royal marines, people join a job becauses its their personal preference and something they think they are good at and would enjoy, im pretty sure when the shit hits the fan and we got suicide bombers running around the uk and all hell breaks loose who you gunna rely on!! the armed forces and the courage of our men, i might be in the marines but bollox to the queen and all that shit fuck her and fuck the goverment, and the army was not made for fucking peace, the army are their to wipe out those who want anarchy and other reasons, im sure i dont have to explain

Hmmm, you aren't a drop out? I thought people with GCSE's knew how to use full stops and capital letters.
Who am I going to rely on? People with an IQ higher than 35, I hope. Fighting doesn't solve anything in the long run. So you can sit there on your pedastool thinking that the Army and Royal fancy pants I-Have-An-IQ-Of-12 regiment solve World hunger and what not, but in the end, what is really going to help the world's problems is the people who volunteer charity work, donate food and time to the poor, don't create pointless wars in the Middle East etc etc.
Fuck the Government? Wipe out those who want Anarchy? Wow, you sound quite contradictive there son. So you don't like our Democratic Government, but you are wiping out Anarchy? Wow, lets just all join the Army, sounds like a great system you have!

Yes fuck the government, know one really cares about the armed forces and your attitude shows that. You saw the other day on the news about the rebate or whatever for when people are on 6 month tours, and they get a rebate of like £150 what a insult to the people that are risking our lives. In my local paper people were signing for a petition complaining to the council that a military rehab hospital was put near their house, they moaned the value of their houses would go down and too much traffic would be cause, how sick is that people are worried about the value of their house, but don't care what a soldier who has lost a limb is going through what their family is going through. I do agree with what your seeing war cures nothing, but we are their for a reason and i can explain the reasons if i have to, im not asking for a fight from you but as a servicemen you have to understand where im coming from.

I understand, partially. And I do respect you for the willingness to go out there, however I have strong moral issues with the Armed Forces.
I don't think it's that noone cares for the Armed Forces, I just think that people are sick to their stomachs of paying their money, in taxes, to the Government, to pay for stupid, pointless wars that we went into for no real justifiable reason. The same money that could be spent helping the NHS, put towards the education system, improve public facilities etc.
Perhaps people are ignorant towards the fact that the people in the Armed Forces are risking their lives and therefore deserve respect, but frankly, soldiers are supporting a cause that the majority of British people do not agree with, so why should they be egging you on, and rolling in pride?

Yeah i couldn't agree more with putting money where it's needed, but how about when soldiers are getting killed because they are sent out without body armour because we don't have enough. Trust me im not slating you or your intelligence but all im saying is until you are in the armed forces you can't really say its money wasted, i mean you should see the stuff we get issued the food we get fed its a fucking joke, it seems the government doesn't have a clue to be fair. And you are right about going to war for no reason, we went to iraq to support america because america want the fucking oil the greedy wankers, and as for afghanistan we went their because of the drug dealing and all that so their is a cause in all this war, but it don't help when we get crazy muslims with big pillows on their head blowing up london, america, etc

Kate
October 1st '07, 09:27 PM
I couldn't agree with you more, there. I've seen some of the Army training camps, in pictures, and it's horrendous. You would think they would get much better treatment for the position you and they are in.
And the salary, 12,500 a year?
Stop paying the fat bastard lazy politicians so much and raise the salaries of the Armed Forces, Teachers, Emergency Services, etc etc.

And personally, if it was up to me, I'd have George W(anker) Bush on top of a tank being driven through Iraq.
