I've been told that I'm a bit too ambitious but I want to do what I really enjoy doing in the future ; I don't want to let my life go to waste =]
I want to become an actress for the stage, television and film first of all. Acting is something rather deep and very important to me! Actually, it's my greatest passion along with singing and drawing. I want to sing opera one day ; I have been told that my voice has the potential to sing opera and since a couple years ago, I wanted to be an opera singer. I've always loved drawing. I want to use my artistic abilities in life by becoming an illustrator and/or a graphic design. I could say that I want to become a web-designer but I wouldn't want to entirely focus my life upon that. I'd do it as a hobby. I've always been quite into writing and would like to write a novel or two in my lifetime ; to become a scriptwriter and a director also appeals to me. Though, directing mainly stage shows rather than television and film. I enjoy photography and taking pictures ; So, perhaps photography may be one thing I'd get into when I'm older. Possibly as just a hobby.
I want to make the best out of life. I know...if I did all those things in one go, I'd probably explode into a million pieces but it won't harm to give it a try, would it? One never knows... nothing is impossible!

if it bores you, theres no point in doing it no matter how respectable it is.
I want to go into medicine. Not sure what area of medicine yet, I want to work in a hospital though, but I've absolutely decided that is what I want to do. Either that or be a teacher, of science, but somewhere where the kids want to learn. My chemistry teacher told me that I wouldn't regret it if I found somewhere like she works to teach, and I don't think I would.
Medicine though = main priority.

February 3rd '08, 05:28 AM
Yeh a little coffee shop at the back. And the customers can read the books they want tp purchase there before they get them, provided they don't spill coffee on them. and I don't care if that wouldn't be good for business. I'd like to be able to do that in a bookshop, so I shall do it in mine!
I first got the idea from Hugh Grant's in Notting Hill actually, but I wouldn't just have travel books :P
Innamorata
February 3rd '08, 05:37 AM
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Nothing worse than buying a book, and it turning out to be rubbish. I guess you could always get the first chapter of a book printed and let them read that instead, so they don't just read the whole book and leave. I think a chapter's usually long enough to work out if you're gonna like the book. Easier to replace if it gets ruined too.

I want to be a doctor, I'm 99.999999999999%% sure of it. Which type? Not an idea :(. I'm thinking a physician, or just a normal doctor who wanders round hospitals doing stuff (and being JD from Scrubs in an ideal but freaky world). Why I want to subject myself to 40/50 years of doing constant exams and handling dirty patients? Well I don't know, I'm possibly crazy. but why not assist in the maintenance of the fundamentals of life and understand your own body, which people live their lives in ignorance towards, personally I just prefer to live in ignorance to everything else in the world.

This is the most interesting thread I have seen on any forum. It shows that teenagers are not all lazy and that some have genuine ambitions to work doing whatever rather than be a burden to others.
We had a lecture in school in 1956 where the teacher said; 'If you want to get ahead then get a group'' This applies now more than ever because the entire world has climate changes to cope with and mass human sickness.
I have had piles of job creating stuff in mind and on my computers for a long time and none have yet been used.
Those with ambition ought to remember that Tesco started out as one small shop in Edmonton around 1955 and you do not need qualifications to be self-employed.
I would be willing to help anybody wishing to start a small business venture particularly where it helps the environment, wildlife, the poverty-stricken or those who are suffering ill health.

Most young people who aren't out smashing up bus shelters have some ambition I'd say, most of us aren't the stereotypical school drop-outs who sit and watch Television and claim state benefits and think that having 3 cars and 30 children by the age of 19 and making frequent trips to torquay is living a satisfying life. :)

Sex education fifty years ago did not include any references to A.I.D.S (Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).
These days are somewhat different because girls and boys must be a bit worried about ''getting A.I.D.S''
Around 25 years ago, I was saying that AIDS is a label for decompression sickness and my view has not changed. My research regarding AIDS indicates that I am right.
Loss of immunity to infection can occur if one lives too far above sea-level. Rapid decompression inside an aircraft is another way to suffer loss of immunity. However, I believe very few people know this so trying to understand it all could involve a bit of mental agony I suppose.
*Jess*
May 3rd '08, 10:20 PM
Aaah right, well I guess so then. The thing is most people my age do not take AIDS or any other sexually related disease seriously, they regard it as being associated with being dirty and somehow disgusting. Many don't see it as a real threat, they see it as another part of their teenage invincibility, just as they believe drugs won't affect them ever, they believe that things such as this can't happen either. It's an attitude. I think they need to teach kids about the reality of AIDS properly first, before teaching them on the logistics. They see it as a joke and taboo, rather than the harsh reality that people who have experienced the disease in the slightest way possible see it.

Aquiring a loss of immunity to infection means all infections, not just sexual.
Lots of elderly people are dying inside hospitals after being diagnosed with MRSA and many other infections. However, these people have lost much of their immnity against infection before entering hospitals.
Rapid decompression inside a plane can cause disolved nitrogen in body tissue to be released into the bloodstream as tiny bubbles. In turn, this causes blood oxidation, better described as a form of poisoning.
If a person flies to Austalia from London then he or she might stop for the purpose of taking on more passengers and fuel four times. With each landing, the passengers are subjected to rapid decompression without their knowledge or much thought of the medical impacts.

When I left school a year ago I wanted to go straight into work, and I did. Now thinking about going to college but not in any way shape or form because I think I need the qualifications to succeed at work, I just like to learn.

I see education as a means of living for free. My parents will pay for me as long as I go to college and and all that jazz, so I'm merely going to ride this oppurtunity to buy me time to perfect my drawing. I'll go to music college, study that for three years, and in the mean time, I'll create comics and perfect my craft. Once I finish college, I'll hopefully have a career in writing, and drawing comics set out for me.

Social work, maybe. I'd also like to take a year off and volunteer with the Peace Corps :)

Define education.
If you mean high school- I will probably go to college somewhere in Florida since it's too hard to get a scholarship out-of-state. But before college, I want to travel the world a bit. (If I can save the money)
If you mean college- I'm one of those indecisive bastards that has no idea what he's going to do in the future. (Not trying to brag here-) I'm pretty smart, and I can get in pretty much any college, and work any profession but it seems to make my decision harder.
I used to think doctor would be good, but I watched too much Scrubs, anddoctors aren't like that IRL.
I've been thinking about becoming an inventor recently, since I'm good with math, and I have good ideas every once in a while.
But the thing I was recently thinking that would be really nice is to be a college professor. Possibly in philosophy, (Tuesdays with Morrie anyone?)

Ever since i was a little kid i've always wanted to become an Archaeologist, specialising in Ancient history, like Egyptians and Greeks, but the money wouldnt be that good. So now i've decided to become a Clinical Psychologist, Ancient history can be my hobby

I've always been on the artsy side. Right now, I'm taking up a degree course in Music, and that's a road definitely worth taking for me. Though I'm majoring in Asian Music, I want to take my masters in conducting, and be able to conduct and establish a choir that's worthy of praise.
Thinking about it, it brings me full circle. My singing started with the choir anyway :)
