Discuss rules and description throughout the day, so it can be put up tonight.

There will definately have to be one about not to plagiarize other peoples work ect.
And maybe not doing peoples homework for them, just to offer hints, not to give all the answers.

Yeah, I agree with Rashella, it shouldn't be word for word copying, but for asking how to structure a sentence in an English Literature essay or something along those lines.
It will have to be strictly modded.

I think there should also be a rule about not posting full documents on it, like example homeworks. Because that would be cheating and could end up with the person who actually created the document being punished for plagiarism.
And maybe strict rules with things like coursework, we should be wary about giving too much help. Just a push in the right direction maybe, but anything more than that is risky and could result in disqualification from exams and such. Plus, if its unreliable then someone will have to keep an eye out for that.

Exactly
My school had a big thing on plagiarism.
They have software which can even tell when you change the wording of things.

Wouldn't that be a bit insecure of software, since it would require a difference engine, 90% of the work that gets pushed through would come up as plagiarised.

I don't know, I'm not an expert on it.
They don't seem to go wrong with it though, if you can prove you did it and they dismissed it you can appeal and i've never heard of that happening. A girl was dismissed from exams because of it when I was doing my GCSE's, as she actually did plagiarise coursework for maths, and I remember being stood near her when she was discussing it with a friend. So it was 0 GCSEs for her, and all entirely fair when everyone else was spending so much time doing it.

not really. back when we had to make poems and shit for english. a copied a whole phrase and just changed ONE word. that program didn't even catch it.
though don't get too over confident. i did get some 0's on some projects in high school for plagiarizing. sometimes they catch you, sometimes they don't. its your responsability if you wanna go along with it or not.

You're nuts :p, the question is, how would we go about controlling plagiarism?

Or we could just not post anything like coursework at all. And give minimum information.
