Do you think these places are good or bad?
whats your views?
If i had my own way every single one in the world would be shut down asap.
The ways they get the meat is just cruel.
oh and if you've never been on here..

I'm not a vegetarian so I don't know, it depends, but the KFC cruelty I wouldn't let them treat animals like that, stamping on their heads and stuff, it's disgusting and I'd get them to sell healthier food and cook them more healthily. I think having them all closed down at once wouldn't go down to well with the world. :P
I seen that website though, it put me off KFC for life. :\

I lol'd during that video, then quickly shopped an image of pamela anderson into a bucket of fried chicken, made it my desktop image, and lol'd some more.
P.S.
Having Pamela Anderson as your spokesperson is never a good idea, and chickens aren't as smart as a cat or dog.

they're bad but people love it
what can we do
Nirvana_rox
October 24th '07, 02:56 PM
well you can go against it..
*Jess*
October 24th '07, 05:14 PM
I don't know why you think "going against it" will particularly help.
I feel bad they have chickens like that, but you don't realise those are extremes and just watching a video and posting it on a forum isn't going to help.
People still eat it and thats all they care about.
Go out and find something you can actually help with.
Going against it is too vague. He's right when he says "what can you do". You're not personally going to be able to close down KFC, and you're not going to get everyone to stop eating it if they want to eat it.

That website is hardly reliable is it? Seems like they're determined to damn it from the off.
I'm personally in full support of these nourishement establishments for a number of reasons:
1 - I don't see reliable sources telling me that these bad conditions are the case, and even if I choose to believe these obviously biased sources then all they can show are a small few isolated incidents.
2 - If these conditions were the case, who cares? Smaller animals like that don't comprehend pain to the same level as humans. There is also human suffering in sweatshop labour and such, which seems a higher priority to me than that of these lovely animal's plight.
3 - It's what the people want. Believe it or not these eating establishements do not ostentatiously present themselves there unwanted. The people want them there, the mass population wants them there.
If you don't like it; don't eat there. Simple.

Gosh
They have to get the meat somehow.
I rarely eat at KFC or Mcdonalds but tbh I don't really give a shit. It's better than slaughtering humans and not everybody wants to live off processed 'healthy vegetarian' food or rabbit food.

I personally find fast food repulsive but if other people want to eat it then they can go ahead because it doesn't bother me.
And leave KFC alone, the Mclennan family have ties to Colonel Sanders himself. (I just can't resist).

What exactly do you mean by that?
If you're implying what I think you are, tbh I'd say what I said about KFC whoever you were and if I didn't think you were a sickeningly compulsive liar ;)
Don't you think it's more of a problem bigger companies than KFC are subjecting cotton farmers in India to carconogenic chemicals, toxic and deadly chemicals every day by leaving them to use pesiticides without masks or without even a purpose as they don't work, then leaving them with as little as ten euros for six months worth of cotton because they are profit eating and money grabbing? If you did anything good for society truthfully by actually helping charities rather than biased protest companies then you'd understand things far beyond this are happening without help from people because of ignorance and companies like this taking the limelight by giving unreliable facts whereas proper charities have to use the facts.
Fact is yes they should be killed in a better way but ultimately they are all killed anyway.

So you wouldnt care if you died the most painfull death than if you died naturally?
And i know there is other shit going on in the world and i care about that
But this is just one thing im strongly against and it would be nice if you respected that
but im guessing you aren't going too which is fair enough

Yes, because the ways they normally slaughter chickens aren't painful.
I'd get information about the alternative ways before making a complete judgement.
Also, this is the debate forum ;).
And you ignored my question about your lying.

I haven't watched the video cos I can't be bothered. And peoples replies make it obvious enough.
Tbh, if you're gonna eat meat, it makes little difference, you can't complain. I object cos it costs the earth and its a massively large company and global corporations are never good but I don't object cos the poor chicken got its head smashed in.
As long as its dead, I'm not bothered how it dies, although i'd be a bit disconcerted if my chicken burger clucked at me.
Also, odds on you eat battery produced eggs. Which is arguably more cruel as they are still alive.

McDonalds food looks like brains. Although it's more likely to damage your brain than aid it. The food is mainly composed of grease and fat. After watching Jamie's school dinners with Jamie Oliver I can't look at a burger in the same way again.
Not that I've eaten burgers for a long time, I've been vegetarian for 6 years :P

Oh yes, when you're on the fucking chart show or something?
Right.
I will wait til that day
I can think what I think? Alright. I think you're a goddamn liar and even when you've been caught in the act you continue lying.
Jordon caught that you were posting from the same IP. So why bother continuing with this shit about you earning £500,000
I can prove it, he caught you in the act.
Can you prove it happened?
Show me a website saying where your little fans got their ticket from. Im sure if you were such an important headliner earning so much it should be on the web somewhere ;).

Sorry honey, but no form of animal slaughter or stage of meat production is painless. Fact.
aaand... "chickens aren't as smart as a cat or dog" so? How is this even an argument?

Did I say it was painless?
Don't say what I say is bullshit because you'll find that by saying "Yes, because the ways they normally slaughter chickens aren't painful." I was being sarcastic and saying it was painful either way.
So whatever you were saying was bullshit because you didn't pay attention to what I was saying.
I think if i said it was painless anyway I'd be contradicting my own argument.
So BULLLLLLLLSHIT to you too.

Hmmmmmm..............that's intriguing, because you can knock out and kill a cow so fast they feel no pain. FACT...we do it in the US every day ;)
Oh, edit, and I didn't know that once the cow or chicken was dead they could feel pain. :\, since most of the processing occurs AFTER THE ANIMAL is dead, how the fuck would that be possible?

You've gotta get 'em there first.
And in reality, that ain't how it happens. Especially not for broiler hens.

So you know the reality of this, since you guys import 90% of your meat from the US? Gotta get 'em there first? :| Now you are trying to say transport is painful? Green Peace hippies have such retarded theories. In reality you are apart of the food chain, do you bitch about how a lion kills his prey, I mean shit, It's oh so fucking painful :(.

Uhh, what?
1) of course transport's painful, pain isn't restricted to the obvious like being shot in the head.
2) who's a "Green Peace hippy"?
3) again, lions? what?
& sorry Jess didn't notice it.
