I watched Transformers last night. Was really good actually, considering I know nothing of the orignal storyline, and have never read the comics. Watched it a second time with the directors commetary on, was really interesting.

Also saw The Golden Compass on friday night. Again, I didn't really know the original storyline, as I've not read Northern Lights, but I think that was a good point. All the group of people that I saw it with HAD read the book, and they were complaining about how the film cuts off the end of the book, apparently.
The CGI of the animals was great, especially the fight of the armoured bears.
