View Full Version : Young people having sex.

Sorry but I've had enough, I've had a young person who is pregnant trying to argue with me that it isn't their fault they are pregnant, even though they had unprotected sex.

Now I'm not being funny but:
- Using protection, DOES prevent pregnancy, not 'always' I know, but I hear people saying that too often, 'it doesn't always work' when it clearly says on practically every form of protection that it prevents it 99% of the time.
- Proven scientific fact, so stop bullshitting that you used protection and it didn't work, because I'd only believe you if the majority of others had told me otherwise.
- Or if you then say that you must not have worn/taken the pill right, well if you don't know how to do it right, and you then do it, then it's your own fucking fault you got pregnant or your partner got pregnant you stupid fucking idiots. If you even bought some condoms they come with a little instruction note showing you how to use them, not fucking hard to read something for 10 seconds before getting down to it is it.
- Or if you do it without protection then the guy 'pulls out' before ejaculation, that's even stupider, because guess what, you can still get pregnant, oh you didn't realise, well that's your own fault for being so stupid in taking the risk without knowing the consequences.
- Or the worst kind, those that just do it without protection and just take the risk, I mean come on, are you having a joke or what.

Now this isn't a rant at young mothers or pregnant teens in general, it's a rant at those who are 'surprised' they are pregnant when they have done one of the above, then feel scared and don't know what to do, now sorry, but I have no sympathy for them.
You can easily look up in books or on the internet all you need to know before trying anything so you know the consequences.
I don't think I've ever known or met a person that has had or is having a child that used protection correctly and it was just the freak 1% margin where they became pregnant.
I'm just sick of them all moaning that they're pregnant when it's their own fault.

Hear hear. I don't really understand why teenage pregnancy rates are so high tbh, maybe I got a higer than average sex education, or maybe people really are too pig ignorant to listen.

Although it has to be said, I fell into one of those catergories, in fact more than one of those catergories and just was lucky enough not to get pregnant and now I wouldn't be able to justify why I did that, I was just stupid, I knew the risks but thought it wouldn't happen to me, which it didn't but I guess to many it does.

I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. I'm being a massive hypocrite I think.

/shuts up.

Actually, its not 99%, its far less than that with some methods of contraception:

"
Implants and injectables
2-4%
Oral contraceptives
9%
Diaphragm and cervical cap
13%
Male condom
15%
Periodic abstinence
22%
Withdrawal
26%
Spermicides
28%"obviously withdrawal and abstinence should be ignored because most know how unreliable that is, but its easy to get pregnant from the failure rate.

Also, I do think that these people are a little ridiculous, but if it is genuinely not their fault they shouldn't be criticised, sometimes it's personal and they will be going through an extremely emotional time right now.

The addition of parties and one night stands as well, they are often genuine mistakes and they will obviously regret it.

Like I said this wasn't a dig at the genuine people who have been unlucky that their prevention has failed, I feel sorry for them, although they do know that there is always that risk, it was at the others.

What annoys me more, is young girls who get pregnant on purpose, and then live on benefits. If you're stupid enough to want to get pregnant when you're about 15, then at least be mature enough to work and provide for your children.
