Well I was in Critical thinking and we were doping arguments and that kind of thing. One thing I came across was something do with ice ages.

They last 100,000 years, and non ice age lasts 10-15,000 years, it was 10,000 years since the last ice age. I don't know the details of it exactly, but we are due an ice age soon (probably not in our lifetime, we would probably know, unless it's going to happen in December 2012 :p). Do you reckon humanity would manage to survive this, especially since we are now adapted to milder weather, and our bodies aren't made to cope with such extreme weather. Even if we did manage survival, technology would be set back years.

Another thought is that it is probably exactly what the earth needs(although not what I want), humans over run this planet, drain it's resources, and make it dificult for other creatures to live in(through greed or pollution).

Apologies if the information about the ice age is wrong, that is just what i read.

Nah that sounds about right, I did it in one of my archaeology modules last year.

I doubt humns would survive tbh, I don't think technology hs advancd to a stage tha would be able to protect us from an ice age, at least not in large numbers.

Sometime in the nineteenth century, sorry I can't remember when , there was a mini ice age for like ten years or something like that, which coincided with economic depression and that was just n a small scale. I think its safe to say if we got a proper one we'd be screwed.

Depends on a couple of things really, what are the average temperatures during an ice age? If they're low enough we wouldn't survive whatever technology we had at hand.
