Let yourself have a bit of what you want, just don't eat loads of it. Portion control ftw.

Like Innamorta said, don't let yourself have too much of something.
Just a little bit here and there, and try not to eat too much and do some push-ups and jumping jacks and other exersises to burn it off after you eat it.

Three meals a day (Good breakfast, small lunch, and dinner), and fruit/veg snacks in between. Don't try the whole skipping lunch/breakfast as this will mean that when you finally do eat, you'll be starving and eat more.

Eat slowly, it takes time for your stomach to recognize its full. Give it chance to tell you it isn't hungry anymore.

And exercise, generally. It doesn't have to be much. Walk to places instead of getting the bus.

Agree with Rashella, eat slowly. If you normally bite through chocolate, suck on it instead. It's small but it's a start.

have fruit layed out, it tastes just as good and is better for you!

Make some awesome food from healthy stuff!! You know the kind, try blondies, light cherry bakewells, even some chocolatey food is healthy! (it tastes better when you cook for yourself, honest!)

Exercise a little, get a friend and force eachother to run or bike or even just walk. The main reason for weight gain is animals biologically attempt to eat just a little more than they need. This way if things go south they would still have food. Unfortunately it has led to 'passive obesity' where you very steadily gain weight.

Best answer? passive weight loss. It may take a little longer than extreme exercise regimes but it's a good idea, especially for women as it doesn't lead to ott muscles and still gives you lifes pleasures.
Just eat a little under your RDA for carbs and fats. Exercise a little bit (walking etc is absolutely fine) and ta daa! Like I said, it takes a while but it is a brilliant answer, if you get into the habit of it it can work wonders.

Nothing new to add to that really. Agree with what everyone else said, especially the whole doing it with a friend thing. makes it a lot easier.
Im going on holiday in the summer with some friends so me and a friend go swimming together a couple of times a week and i dont dread it because we have a laugh aswell. The eating side of it is a lot easier when your not doing it on your own either, if i go for chocolate... she talks me out of it, and i do the same for her. Its hard not to get stupid over it aswell when it takes a while to lose weight, so having the support there definately helps a lot.
