Need help please

I recently just got into a huge fight with one of my lady friends. It was over a stolen iPod, and they thought I was the one who took it. I first learned of her stolen iPod days later when they approached me in the hall in school and asked if I know if anyone stole an iPod, I said no but was willing to steal an iPod for her and not charge her anything, out of the goodness out of my heart (a bit warped I know, stealing, etc.) basically I told her that I had her new iPod when in fact I didn't, I just wanted to get her excited and make her happy because of her loss of her iPod, then the next day they needed the iPod, but I couldn't provide them with one because I didn't get it yet, and they were both yelling at me, etc. Anyway, after that the girl I was talking to basically just said "don't talk to me" My question is if I should just not talk to her, or do something else. Please help.

You shouldn't have said that you had her ipod.
You should explain exactly what you meant.
Nobody wants to be friends with a thief, you can't trust them.

Well obviously avoiding her now would be the best idea.
You shouldn't have lied and made an ass of yourself telling her you had a new iPod. Obviously, you couldn't get her one and you only made her more upset and dissapointed her and tarnished her trust in you to nothing, and now she may never talk to you again because she sees you as a pathalogical liar.
