Ok so i have this freind
and we have been freinds for a while now like good freinds (some would call us best freinds)

Well my issue is she has started doing drugs HEAVILY (dont get me wrong i will have a joint every now and again)

She was planning on going away for a bit and had saved up some money ($500)well now she has totally spent it all on......you guessed it drugs

My issue with it is that we had a freind who died from an overdose
and i dont want her to turn into that


So i need help what do i do

Oh, drugs are never great to get invloved with.
My best James got invloved & was rushed to hospital avec me in the ambulance having a great big crying sesh. Not that I remember, I was drugged up too.
Never done it since.

Does this friend not know the risks?
You should try showing her.
Surely the fact that a friend died from an OD should deter her?
She's got to want to stop enough to actually commit to stopping.
Don't say you didn't warn her ...

I highly doubt you are going to be able to get her to stop doing drugs while you are doing them also, even if it is just the occasional joint.

Drugs can completely change a person and make them vulnerable. She seems like one of those people that think others can die from drugs but it won't happen to her. Don't annoy her about it, but be sure to remind her.

To be completely honest with you, as KatieMay said, she's not going to stop unless she wants to. You can't really force her, but be sure to watch out for her.

You should find out why she does the drugs... like why she started, and why she has become dependent on them. Many people use it as an escapism for other problems...
All you can do is be there for your friend and when she needs you, be there.

By doing the drugs yourself you're not setting a good example.
She won't stop because one person tells her to, remember that.
I had a similar friend, only she self-harmed. The more we told her it was bad and that she should stop, the nastier, and more stubborn she became about it.
Until she took an overdose of paracetamol in an attempt to kill herself and got rushed to hospital. That was the end of all of it.

I agree with the others. Your friend will maybe just tell you "why should I? You do drugs, too." Maybe you have to show her that you have stopped this addiction of yours and when you have done this than you can persuade her to stop, too.

Weed is not just something which causes a drunken effect. You'd have to be stupid to not realise you're being an absolute imbecile for taking it and thinking it is just going to give you a high and have no other possible side effect. It's a drug, our hospitals are crowded enough as it is.

Whilst it's pretty much impossible to overdose on cannabis, it's not impossible to gain other side effects. Think about it.

Tbh i know a lot of people , that do a lot of drugs, and spend a LOT of money on them.
They are all very stable people its just a life choice.
They enjoy it, and hey, you only live once.
If thats the way they want to live then so be it.

In my opinion, yeah okay they can make their own choices, but when it starts to affect other people then it is no longer personal. I don't think they should have health care on the NHS in my honest opinion, I saw more than enough drug addicts coming into A&E and I only worked there for a week. You choose to let your health deteriorate, you choose to pay for your own health care instead of letting other people's tax go on it, and restricting hospital places for other people.

I know alot of people who took/take weed. They're bodies have gotten used to it, so they try harder, more dangerous drugs to get the same high they first did when they tried weed, and its damaging them. Thats what worries me.

Yep, they think their bodies are getting used to it, however sometimes at that stage they are slowly deteriorating and trying stronger drugs only accelerates this. They're never going to identify their problems, if they've got emphysema there is no way of identifying it until it is too late, if they have brain damage there is no way of identifying this either. Just rest knowing that they know the risks and you're being sensible.

What the hell, you'll understand one day? What am I, some small child who is aspiring to do drugs? I never plan to do any drugs to be honest. Most plants are fucking drugs you idiot, it's the chemicals in them. Did you never learn anything about biology or chemistry? Many fatally toxic chemicals come from plants, do you eat those like fruit or vegetables? Not all plants are edible, they actually contain CHEMICALS, like any other thing existing in the world. You don't have to "do shit" to make drugs, so many are found naturally, and most chemicals which are used to make all drugs, whether the fatal 'recreational' kind or the medicinal kind, are derived from plants. Different chemicals are found in plants, and no it is not some "propaganda scientist" who comes up with these things. I've studied them, never taken them and I've seen the effects and frankly I think you don't have a clue about the poison you're putting into your body.

Good luck going into politics with your apparent lack of any awareness of the world, you could say alcohol and nicotine has benefits but it doesn't mean it's good. Scientists are not paid by the government to say that, why on earth would they be? It's absolutely pointless. Just because you plan on going into politics it:

1) Doesn't mean you have any source of intelligence or good policies at all, as you have portrayed in your previous posts.

2) Doesn't mean you have any sort of authority in this matter.

If you "don't care" about any of the views and attitudes of anyone who attacks you on your apparent "policies", you're not exactly going to be successful in politics. Get real.

Like others said don't do any drugs however infrequent it is that you do them first and if she is your best friend then surely she'll listen to you and you have to talk her out of it and help her to stop doing them whatever it takes or she could easily end up like your fr4iend with such amounts as $500 worth of drugs.
