well after a long peroid i have made a conclusion ... that being around different age groups will effect when you hit puberty and growth sperts!!!
eg someone who is ment to be in yr 8 is in year 7 will not grow at te same rate because he is around a different age group!
what are ya thoughts !!!

I agree with you totally. I'm a year 11 that supposed to be in Year 10 so I'm a 15 year old hanging out with a bunch of 16-19 year olds and so I get invited to "older kids" parties and see more hardcore stuff being done at them. It has made me a lot more aware of this kind of stuff and in some ways I have matured mentally faster then my cousin who is the same age as me but in year 10.
Nice work on your theory!
*edit* I just read your post again and I think I may have misunderstood what you meant. Did you mean grow physically or just growing as a person in general?
Well I think you'll mature mentally at different rates depending on who you're hanging out with but I don't think the physical part has anything to do with it unless you're hanging out with older kids who are getting you to take drugs at a younger age that will slow down the growth and development as a growing person. Also, if you're older hanging out with younger kids, you mind be eating differently like eating more junk food/fast food or something so put on more weight and so if you're a girl, you might develop breasts at an earlier age..I don't know..there's a lot of factors that could probably affect a child's development.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that one.
Like my friend and cousin are supposed to be in the year below and they are both my height, and both got their periods before me.

This is the least scientific, critical and analytical theory I have ever seen. People grow at different rates, depending on their genetic makeup. The best way I can see to test this is to get identical twins, at least 8 sets, and put one from each set a year or more higher in school and study their development over several years.

Not all theory's have to be scientific...

but reaper is also right aswell. you would need to test on a much larger scale ... test in different countries and climates. make them have different diets ... carb based ect...
and reaper i also no that people grow at different rates . but i have noticed my theroy alot with people hanging around me okay.

That's not a theory, its idiocy. There's no scientific base for it. Pubic developement is the result of a person's genetic make-up.

well it happens with plants why cant it happen with human and animals?
a small tree in a forest that is being cant reach the sunlight wil grow faster to try get the sunlight on its branches.

Simple. Plants have a different biochemical structure, and as such react differently. Sunlight lets them grow faster as its their source of energy. In that regard they're similar to humans, as malnourished individuals tend to be shorter than the average person. Obviously things like that would have an impact. But the way you socially associate with somebody has no effect.

Just what I was trying to say in my first post. Anything you CONSUME can affect your physical development. And sometimes the people you hang out with influences what you CONSUME.
For example: If you are hanging out with older kids at a younger age, you could be consuming drugs and alcohol at an earlier age and if you are hanging out with kids younger then you, then you could be consuming more junk food then if you were with people your own age.

yeah .. consuming alcohol and drugs at an early age can speed up growth and ageing rates . i saw this article in a newspaper about it. this lady drank a 600ml- 1l of beer or spirts after like 2 weeks this lady that was 25 looked like 40. it looked really bad.
