i dont think china should have hosted them this year
- its only the fact they have money is why they are hosting them.

Did you know, that orginally they were going to have stars instead of rings for the symbol? Its a modern symbol, not Greek at all.

I'll be watching it, particulary Swimming, Gymnastics and Rowing :)

Anybody watch the softball? I was hoping Japan would take the gold this time around but the US won again.
By the way both softball and baseball will be gone in the next Olympics. :(

I was wrong! Japan had a second shot and won the gold. :D

I find them tediously boring as you can usuaklly guess who's going to win everything, and if you're unsure, the commentator's usually tell you who will.

The most exciting partfor me was watching Usain Bolt, not to see if he won or not because I knew he would, but how fast he could go.

It was pretty good, just the endless focus on Micheal Phelps drove me up the wall. There really wasn't a day that didn't go by without hearing a commentator say or bellow "Micheal Phelps". Also, too much swimming for me as that really isn't my sport. The TKD was great, especially seeing the Cuban getting banned and booted. I was mostly interested in judo, wrestling, weightlifting, gymnastics, some tkd and some beach volleyball. I do judo and some wrestling (the wrestling with friends), as well as karate, which I hope will be in the next olympics but TKD is the closest I'll get for that. Gymnastics I love and same with weights.

The opening was impressive but got a bit boring at times. Not sure why some of you said you were crying though... it wasn't sad and it wasn't painful...

Well Michael Phelps does now have the most gold medals of any athlete ever to compete in the olympics, so I think it's kinda deserved really, don't you. And why did you even watch the swimming then.
