well, I'm assuming you already listen to The Arcade Fire?
if not, they're fairly quintessential as an indie group.

The problem is when you say 'indie' nowadays people class so many things as indie.
Just based on the kind of sound, are you looking for something that's more like pop/rock eg. razorlight, the kooks, just plain guitar and drums stuff, eg. the enemy, the arctic monkeys, something varying in sound eg. bloc party, older stuff, or just something plain unique and unknown?
I'd go with Shane's recommendation to be honest first by listening to the radio 1 live lounge albums, great place to start. :)

Is there even such a thing as Indie anymore?
I'll go ahead and recommend of Montreal (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VHFUXH4PP5c), arguably the finest band in the world today for me, and about as established as an Indie band is ever going to get without becoming mainstream.

Is there even such a thing as Indie anymore? It's pretty much died out to be honest.
