I saw it in Tesco last night, skimmed the songs and quickly put it back. My mate Stu then had a look and said "God, there's some shit music around these days!" haha

You'd probably only like 7/8 songs off a rock compilation album or whatever. ;)

I haven't bought a Now CD since Now Twenty Something.
I can't remember what it had on it exactly - well, except for Crocodile Shoes, which was red hot back then.
They seem to be infested with tripe from the top of the charts. Which is fair enough I suppose. I'm a fan of pop. But I like my pop properly baked.

have you noticed how on every now album there's always some random nobody on it, that no-one has ever heard of...i dunno if it's maybe just me and the people i know, but i always seem to find a song on it that doesn't even know what a pop chart is, nevermind ever getting into it...not that i follow the charts much...maybe my error i guess
Also,
You'd probably only like 7/8 songs off a rock compilation album or whatever. ;)
Don't you think they should bring a decent rock compilation album out for christmas? last time i heard kerrang i was disappointed that most of it was indie...and i haven't seen any rock albums been advertised for Christmas, unless i just haven't seen them...has anyone else seen any?

They're all either classic rock (which I like but have most stuff anyways), or 'indie' supposedly - which means it's full of coldplay, james blunt, embrace and the similar sounding 'softer' bands if you will, which just aren't quite my thing.
There needs to be a decent album out full of recent stuff, ranging from indie rock to a bit of metal, with bands like Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, The Enemy, Oasis, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Kings of Leon. They all have decent new stuff out, the closest that comes to it is the Q album 08:
The tracklisting is as follows:
Kings Of Leon Crawl
Glasvegas Geraldine
The Ting Tings Shut Up And Let Me Go
Razorlight In The Morning
The Kooks Always Where I Need To Be
The Fratellis Mistress Mabel
Ida Maria I like You So Much Better When Youre Naked
Manic Street Preachers Your Love Alone Is Not Enough
The View Same Jeans
Paul Weller Have You Made Up Your Mind
Primal Scream Losing More Than Ill Ever Have
The Coral In The Morning
Young Knives Up All Night
Mystery Jets Two Doors Down
The Metros Last Of The Lookers
The Pigeon Detectives This Is An Emergency
Mark Ronson Stop Me
Bloc Party Flux
Santogold L.E.S. Artistes
Rage Against The Machine Killing In The Name Of
Newton Faulkner Teardrop (Live Session)
The Script We Cry
Scouting For Girls Heartbeat
MGMT Electric Feel
Keane Is It Any Wonder
The Enemy We Live And Die In These Towns
Editors The Racing Rats
Fleet Foxes White Winter Hymnal
Conor Oberst Milk Thistle
Rumble Strips Alarm Clock
The Stone Roses Waterfall
The Clash Rock The Casbah (Live From Shea Stadium)
Kasabian L.S.F.
The Feeling Never Been Lonely
Zutons Valerie
Jeff Buckley Last Goodbye
Bob Dylan Thunder On The Mountain
Leonard Cohen Hallelujah
The Futureheads The Beginning Of The Twist
Reverend And The Makers Heavyweight Champion Of The World
Oasis Supersonic
Calvin Harris The Girls (Live Session)Though again, there's some pre-2008 songs in there (Kasabian, The Enemy, Razorlight....in fact half of the album is pre-2008) =/
WE WANT A CURRENT ALBUM FULL OF CURRENT TRACKS!
And on a side note: Looking at the Kerrang 08 album, it's shit, and some of the stuff isn't even from 08 (Green day, MCR, Fall Out Boy =/) although the album isn't indie at all.

I think I'd much rather just go out and support the Artists I actually like by just buying their Albums.

November 24th '08, 02:04 PM
Well yeah, like I say I probably wouldn't even buy it anyway because I have most of the individual albums.

Yeah that's the problem isn't it really, they make the compilations too late...by then you've already bought all the albums and singles you really want, so there's no point buying the compilation, because you could just make it yourself in a play list.
They should release compilations BEFORE albums...maybe?

But yeah if it was a late release they should release it full of 'album tracks' that aren't necessarily singles or going to be singles, as sometimes album tracks are better, and people that have gone out and bought singles rather than albums can hear something new.
Personally I don't buy any singles anyway, they're a waste of money.
