Ok, so for those of you who don't know, a lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming, and have at least limited control over your actions / the dream itself.

I was wondering if anyone here has even heard of them, or has any experience with them?

(I get really excited about these types of dreams about once a year, and figured a thread was in order this year)

Yeah, i have them here and there, i have a few locations i always dream of being in and then i go from there.....they are usually really weird though...best thing about them is the clear memory of them, unlike regular dreams.

Sometimes though they can be nasty if your imagination slips up a bit and you lose soem control, they can go nasty...and then you have a memory of a dream that youd rather forget.

...if that makes sense :P

how odd...my boyfriend asked me this last night. So i only found out it had a name for what i do last night lol.

I get them all the time...sometimes they're good, and sometimes they're bad...i'll be in a dream, whatever it is...and then something happens that i don't like, so i change it...and like re-think it...it's weird.

it's like having alternative endings to stories...or you realise you can think one better or something so you re-dream what you did in a different way.

I just thought i was odd...nice to know other people get em too :D

i tend to have them mainly when something excited has happened/is going to happen, like i'm really looking forward to whatever it is...but it also means i hate them then, cos i dream something really amazing, so i have high expectations and then it doesn't happen. I remember doing it with exam results last time i remember having one. I imagined i'd got like 3 firsts or something...and passed all of em...but i didn't :( i actually didn't pass to of my modules, but i did get two firsts in two of the others...so not too bad

grr at dreams!
being so good and magical, or so horrible and terrible...i get loooads about people dying. normal dreams i mean...

and i get daydreams of people dying too...it's awful, ill be in the car and suddenly i get this really vivid daydream about my grandad dying, and then i like come around a bit and realise i actually have tears rolling down my face and my hearts beating really quick :(

I always dream the worst outcome of everything and then wake up and realise it isn't that bad!

i had a dream once about me killing two people...it was rele scary
and it was like deja vu in the dream, coz at first i was watching sumone else kill them, and then i was the one killing them...
it felt so real when i woke up i actually looked for where i put the gun, and i kept thinking to myself: 'omg what have i done?!'
it took like 5 mintes for me to realise i hadnt actually killed anyone, and i had never felt so relieved in my life

I once had a conversation with myself in a dream.

"Dood, gimme Angelina Jolie, but newd!"

"Naw, I don't think I will."

"Ugh, you're a dick."

"I know."

"...Cameron Diaz?"

"Nope."

"Well, what can I have?"

"A mongoose."

"Wh..Why a mongoose!?"

"Because they taste good on white bread."

Then my alarm went off. XD.

I've possibly had a few but I'm not good at remembering my dreams

I've only had maybe two in my whole life, but lately my dream recall has been inredible. I've taken to writing down my dreams when I wake up just to see how much I remember. I got almost full page typed this morning XD

I used to have FUCKED up dreams. I wrote a blog about them once. It might account as to why i'm weird, I dunno.

"For the past few weeks, I think i've been going mad. Insomnia? Somewhat. My brain tells my body that i'm sleeping, yet whenever I wake up, it feels as if my eyelids were held open during the night.

Some say dreams last for under a millisecond, hence the reason you can't remember them. Others say your mind is more vast than any science could comprehend. What do I think? I don't think about it at all. My mind is the one place where I can retreat to, the one place nobody can get to me. Yet now, it's more like it was the one place I could retreat to. Now it's the one thing i'm trying to get away from.

My dreams are filled with pain, blood curtling screams seeming to last a lifetime without a sense of mercy on your brain. I see bodies burning in piles by the thousands. Deceased relatives, friends, family whispering nothings in my ears as flames pound the wind, creating a burning immolation of dread in the scent of the air.

I think feel that something bad is going to happen. And happen soon. Perhaps my dreams are just nightmares of some sort. Perhaps they're a warning; a "sixth sense" you might call it. Ever wonder how animals know a storm is coming? Perhaps it's something like this. Or, perhaps i'm going mad.

Either way, I just want it all to stop."

Well, all of that is over now, but those dreams felt like they lasted a good hour and a half before I woke up.

Usual dreams last like 10 minutes for me.

Actually thats probably fairly accurate. Studies done on dreams have shown that while dreaming, things happen at the same speed they happen during the day, its only when we try to remember them after that it seems sped up.

I've had a few. They're quite fun.
Is it odd that my dreams make sense?
