Yes. Two reasons, actually.
One of my favorite bands (Nile) are heavily Egyptian themed, so it's a kind of tribute to that.
It also portrays my stance on religious beliefs. I believe that all current(and past) religious gods derive from Egyptian mythology. It's quite a long theory, but one which should be interesting (if nothing else) to all 'believers'.
Also it looks damn fine! :P
The ankh was taken from the band 'The 69 Eyes'. Fusing Egyptian with my Gothic streak :)

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Ah awesome. I like tattoos with meanings, way more interesting than 'it just looks pretty'!

lmao. i don't think i've ever heard anyone tell me they got a tattoo cos it 'just looked pretty'. i sure would love to, it would make me giggle...although i would laugh in their face...so its probably not a wise idea to do lol!

Loads of people just get tats cos they like the design though, not because it has any special meaning to them.

yeah. i think that's lame...if you're gonna have something stuck on you for life...you sure as hell better have some kinda good reason to have had done is my view :) that's why i ant got one.
that's why my boyfriends idea is so lame...he wants star wars letters of 'peace is a lie' which i don't understand why he wants. I mean yeah he bums star wars. But why that phrase...it doesn't seem to have any significance to him, he says that's what he believes...but i mean...i don't think it does...i dunno
and it will look boring...and crappidy...cos it's just gonna be black odd shapes...
Not like liams, which is EPIC. if i ever had a tattoo, i'd get a bright one that was like 'IM A FOOKIN TATTOO' lol.
i know someone who had a pair of pants tattooed on her for know specific reason actually...i told her it was stupid...she never spoke to me again.ooops

So Ra went back in time (before he was invented by ancient Egypt) and created Hinduism?

Ancient Egypt and the period of time from which Hinduism dates overlap, so it is very hard to say. Also, modern Hinduism is based on that which generated 1000-2000 years after Ancient Egypt.
The fact is the similarities between Egyptian mythological "gods" and modern-day "gods" are so profound, that one would have to be very ignorant(or devoted, same to me ;) ) to overlook or dismiss them.
