I'm curious to know if anyone else has even heard of the game, let alone played it, since I seem to only know a limited number of those who do know about it, and play it.
This is, what you could say, a pretty old game, which, in a sense, can be compared to Command & Conquer. Only I find it a lot more interesting than that of C&C. Its space-based, and you have a total of three races that you can choose to use in your battles against the other two.
The races are Protoss, an alien race with advanced technology, including plasma weapons and shields, Terran, who are like your average humans, in spacesuits, and the Zerg, the true alien menace of the game. What they lack in strength, they cover in numbers, as it seems, in the game, they overthrow their opponents with numbers, which clearly, against other AI opponents, proves effective. They don't use technology, but they use mutation.
If you haven't played the game before, but like C&C-type games, I'd suggest you go play this game, as soon as you can, because I promise that you'll play it for a long time. I still play it, and I've had it for about 2 years, now. That's saying something, since I sometimes only play a game for a few months, before putting it down for a long time.
P.S. By the way, for those who are confused, Brood War is the expansion pack for the original StarCraft. StarCraft: Brood War boasts extra units for you to unleash on your opposing AI teams.
