Age Differences in Dating

So, I have this 16 year old friend. The fact that he's dating a 13 year old girl seems a little awkward to me. I mean, during your teenage years, that seems like kind of a large difference. Meh, just wanted your opinion on this.

Personally I think this is a bad thing at that particular age. I agree that age is a sensitive thing around that age.

my boyfriend is 2 years older than me and it doesen't really make much of a difference. I have found most boys my age, or at leased at my school, are incredibly immature and it just seems natural dating an older guy. I guess it depends on the people involved.

i'm 17 and my age range would probably be 16-18

i remember when i was in Y7, all the popular girls in my year were all going out with Y11 boys, i thought it was a bit weird then, but when i think back on it, it's SICK! i mean to imagine, last year, one of my mates going out with a Y7 girl would have been disgusting! it just wouldn't have happened!

There was this girl who must have been around 12/13, and she started going out with this 18 year old ... no one agreed with it, and I don't know if she even liked him, maybe it was just the risk of it all.

Now that same girl is going out with someone who's 16 and she's 13 ... and I don't personally agree with it. I think that a couple of years when you're a teenager counts for a lot, seeing as people develop their personalities so much in such a short amount of time.

Ah its not a problem, its a legitmate question and to be honest, everyone who replies doesnt/rarely come/s on here so yeah, how do we feel?

I think that if you are only just 'of age' then you shouldnt really be messing with younger people, morally a year younger is cool, anything further and i think its taking advantage of peoples maturity. going the other way, as long as their old enough...fuck it although i think after 18, going for 16 would be...nah.

I was having this conversation with my mother last night. At seventeen years of age, I'd like to think i wouldn't hook up with anyone over nineteen-ish. However, I'm going to have to re-evaluate seeing as i had a bit of a fling with a twenty-one year old :S But no older than that, i hope.

I went to a club once when I was 18 and had just started uni and pulled this guy who was 25, which was fine at first, but then he started talking about how his best ate was getting married and he felt a lot of pressure etc. and I was just like HOLD UP, why are you saying this to a 18 yr old, do you expect not to scare me away.
THAT = BAD.

However, when I was 19, I met a 24 yr old, who was still at uni, still went out all the time, still played hockey with us etc. etc. and that was totally fine (and no that had nothing to do with the fact the age difference was slightly less)

To be fair, I think the rule most of us go by, is 3 Years above, or 2 years below. IE, I'm 16, therefore, a girl up to 19 would be okay, as is a girl of 14.. Depends really. On how mature we both are.. I, myself am quite mature, and my last girlfriend was 17, she'll be 18 too, soon.. O_o; So, yeah. Just remembered about when I started Secondary School.. I was, 12/13.. A girl in my year was going with a 21 year old man.. And her parents were fine with it.. Severely pervy. :S Why would you allow that? Walking bag of STI's. xD

Just cause he was 21 didnt mean he had STI's.... i dont think you can really set age restrictions on things so long as you are both over 18 (below that then 1 or two years max) Its more about if you are both the same maturity level and at the same point in your life

i can't say much i am 21 my bf is 31 so do the math we started dating when i was 18, i never thought that i will date a guy so mcuh older then me but it clicked so who cares, but i find it a bit strange if a 12 year old dates a 16-17 year old becuse it is about maturity. i mean even me and my bf have some difficulities with that every once in a while
