View Full Version : I told her she's beautiful and it ruined it

I was on a forum for an interest of mine when I got talking to this girl. I discovered we have exactly the same music tastes, and I mean exactly. She added me as a friend on there, and I added her on Facebook. We got talking even more, and that was four weeks ago. We got properly talking from 17:55 last Wednesday, and we completely opened out to each other about everything. We talked for six hours straight that night but it felt like two, if that. Since that time on Wednesday she's pretty much all I've thought about, as stalkerish as that sounds. I sent her a message stating that I was there for her if she ever needed me, and she said it made her cry with happiness, which felt wonderful! But then I made a mistake: I decided to send her a message telling her what I thought of her, that she was utterly beautiful, wonderful, and all that jazz. It's the first time anyone's ever said anything like that to her, so understandably it's knocked her off her feet a bit. But I'm really worried about her at the moment, because she was fine at first when she'd read the message, but then it must have hit home what I'd said because she went all formal and stuff. Understandable, of course, but then yesterday I said to her "look, I get that it's still awkward for you - I'll let you be, I just hope I haven't ruined anything". A few minutes later, I said to her "look, I have to ask, is it just that you're overwhelmed?" "Yeah" she replied. Well, that explains it. Thing is, I can't talk to her at the moment, therefore I can't know how she is, I can't know whether she needs someone to talk to - though I'm sure she'd talk to her best friend if she needed to. I just worry, that's all, because she's remarkable.
Advice, empathy etc plz

well I don't know. If a guy would tell me that I'm beautiful I would be happy?! Anyway, give her a bit time and slow it down.

Yeah, I moved it far too fast. She's just being very formal atm, subdued etc, and I know that's understandable but like... well today, she posted that she wasn't too happy on Facebook and I couldn't ask what it was about, which is... yeah. At the end of the day I just want her to be happy tbh.

i've seen less precise rapists.
normally i'd give you some "SHE'S A MAN ANYWAY" speech but you seem to not be a complete tit so i'll skip that.
try not to get too obsessed with anyone over the internet, people can and do suddenly change/dissapear for no reason. oh and remember that girls will be girls, and by that i mean they will forever remain confusing fucks that speak a dialect of english i am unfamiliar with. leave it a day or two, play some video games or whatever just give her some space then just talk normally to her.
or sacrifice a goat to her and hope you apease the anger, either really.

Well the only reason I've got the time on record is due to Windows Live Messenger chat logs, so!
Yeah, I'm leaving it for a few days.

don't need to be a genius to work out that you've been reading your chat logs to see if you said anything wrong ;)
as i said try to take your mind off it, also stick around here you seem coherent enough to fit in and it will give you something to do?

Maybe she is a shy person, but you still have to think about what soggy said.
Don't get to obsessed with somebody over the Internet. She can hide a lot even if you talked to her much. I knew some people since ages over the net and I never found out how they really are. I think this girl just needs time to think about the whole situation so give her that time, enjoy yourself and maybe it will work then or maybe not.

Yeah, I know what you mean. A mate of mine once got into an online relationship and it ended... badly, shall we say. I'd never start anything with anyone till I'd met them, but I'm one of those morons who falls in love far too easily. I'm not saying I'm in love now - there's a limit! I just really care about her and think she's someone special.
I agree with what you say about people hiding stuff, too.
Yeah, considering she's sixteen and I'm the first person to ever say something like that it's gonna be a lot to take in!
And thanks yeah, if anything's gonna happen it will :)
