To be honest, i'm getting really bored of all the bad press Nottingham is getting. It has been labelled the 'gun crime capital of the UK' for a few years now but just recently it got the tag 'burgalry capital of the UK'. In the press, Nottingham is referred to as 'shottingham'.

Don't be fooled by all this shit you read in the papers and hear on the news. Nottingham is a fantastic city with superb nightlife and some great sporting heroes. I have been burgled twice in my whole life and never heard a gun shot fire. They're making the city out to look like some version of hell or something which is absolute bollocks. Nottingham is a really good place to live.

God.

I saw this on the news earlier, some insurance company said claims were the largest in Nottingham. Personally I only judge a place if I have been there otherwise could just be made up like this could be~

I've been to Noittingham plenty of times, its got a really gd city centre. I've never had any problems there, ok i will admit ive never lived there so i cant exactly judge the place, but based on the hundreds of times i've been there i think its cool. So Fcuk4forest, i agree with you, ppl dont listen to the press, it exagerates things, its always looking for a story. I bet the apparent gun shot was a child coming out of wilkos with a toy gun or sumink stupid like that. *jokes*. Anyway go and enoy Nottingham, got some great nightclubs!

The Press always exaggerate things to get a decent story.

Simple solution: stop reading the tabloids. That's where half of the bullshit comes from. In the end, they just need something to fill the pages, even if it may be libel and slanderous.

Remember about the Hillsborough disaster? The Sun claimed the next day that Liverpool fans on that day stole from the people killed in the event. Only recently, did they admit the story was founded on nothing but a want for a story. There have been many instances of this in the past and there will be in the future.

The most famous gun crimes have been the WPC that was on a life support machine after chasing a jewellrey thief.

More famous, goose fair 2004, Danielle Beccan, a 14 year old from St.Anns in Nottingham was shot by two men in a car simply because of the ongoing gangland war between the St.Anns area and The Meadows area.

Nottingham apparantley is the most violent city and the worst for binge drinking. Again, I don't believe it's the most violent for a second.

Ahh, the Hillsborough disaster. Liverpool FC Vs my beloved Nottingham Forest FC.

To be fair, I wouldn't put anything past Liverpool fans. They are true scum.

At the end of the day everywhere has gun crimes and thefts etc. Its just that the Tabloids are picking on Nottingham, dont worri about it, Tamworth was labelled the most dangerous town in the west midlands on a friday and Saturday night. I've never had problems in eithe rTamworth or nottingham, just ignore what ppl say, we know what the places are really like!

Haha, I wouldn't say. I remember going to a Man Utd game at home to Liverpool last season (Casual follower - around 10 games a season) and they were great. I am pretty sure we lost 1-0 though. The match was a blur for some reason.
