Recently went down to Brighton for a Web Design Conference, which was amazing.
Had some time spare to walk about and get a few snaps too. :D
If you'd like to view any of these larger, don't hesitate to get yourself over to my Flickr and view the set. ;)

Those aren't at all big. They're at most 1000px wide. :P
If I posted the originals they'd be like 3000px or something and if I posted anything any smaller, you wouldn't be able to see the detail. :)

XD I know, but that's like one or two, not x amount in a row. :p
So my original statement remains:
Holy mother of large pictures.

I'm unhappy. There's me thinking "HAH! Someone spelt 'Brighten' wrong in the photography section, what a nob. I think i'll be a right cunt myself and reply with simply '*Brighten', then 'LOLOLOLOLOLO' after my correction of cuntness to really emphasise adding MEGA amounts of nerd-like salt to the face." It's only you though, Shane (actually in Brighton...) ;( Cool pix!1

Ahhhh well, I was relying on the Image-Resizer to work but I guess it's hit and miss, though it's working nicely for me now. :S
Any feedback on the actual Photos?

haha, the 3rd photo is the most heavily edited. :P
Most of the photos just have filters or slight sharpening. To get the colours though, that's mostly on Camera, as I always take myPhotos with the Vivid setting enabled. :)
Gem.

I miss living in Brighton, did you guys not go to the Laines? So many wonderfully overpriced vintage shops and hippy vegetarian delis.

Shane so many of these are amazing, nearing on perfect!
I was amazed how much i loved the one of the pebbles on their own. I would have thought it was dull usually but i scrolled down to it and thought wow, he even makes dull pebbles look amazing!
Also the one of the lonely seagull evoked so many emotions in me. I felt like slapping myself in the face and being like ''it's just a bird! A loner of a bird at that, get a grip''
I like sunset type photos also. They are easy to do well, but not to do amazingly. All your skyline photos are amazing. I love deep contrast more than anything i think. So dark things in the foreground and then bright skylines like sunsets or whatever. I think that's why i liked the seagull so much. The brightness of the sea against the pearly pinky colours of the pebbles. aghhh

Also checked with a Canadian girl last night who actually grew up in the Cayman Islands, she said because so much of American History is British History, they kind of had to study our Geography as well.
Doesn't explain why we covered Japanese geography in school though or Antarctic for that matter.

Most Americans wouldn't even have known that Brighton was even a place.

We do not study it because it's not in our interest and they'd rather teach us American History over and over again, which is getting farther and farther from the Revolution. It's becoming a tiny chapter, so they see no reason to really include England. It's more the Civil War, Reconstruction, Industrial Revolution, Civil Rights (which should be renamed black rights), WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. Oh, and we do 9-11 for a few days.

I do, but that's only because I like The Importance of Being Earnest. This is also where I first encountered the word "perambulator." Love it. Sounds so complicated, but is just a fancy word for a stroller.
Well, and it was also a setting in Of Human Bondage.
Overall though, I agree with Jo. I'm not typical. My major was English Literature and my concentration was in British Literature, so I had to have some understanding of places in England or else I would have been very, very confused.

Well, if you think about it, when I mention novels like Of Human Bondage you don't really have much of a fighting chance.

yall been under the heel of our shoe ever since we beat you guys in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 yo, and ever since then we've deviated from you since, while you keep trying to catch up to us and trying to emulate us in every way
sorry yo, that's just the way it is with the U.K. and the rest of the world
if it makes you feel better, we do world geography in general for our classes, but we'd never focus on the U.K. specifically, there isn't much to learn from an opponent we've schooled on numerous occasions
