you can try pot once and not get horribly addicted to it. crack is another story.

I've ended up smoking weed for a while...i was completely addicted...then it all changed when one of my best guy friends told me he had to talk to me and told me it was important...He showed me his wrists and he had scars on em and we just cried together and i hugged him...lately i'v been focusing on helping him now i don't do weed...If you ever do resort yourself to a drug...i think the best way to get out of it is to think of something worse that could be happening to some one else...you won't focus so much on what your doing that it will just go a way...it takes a while..but it works...

I do drugs from time to time. Nothing heavy, I've only done weed and mushrooms. I also smoke cigarettes and drink a lot. I'm fairly careful about it all, I've only done mushrooms once and smoke weed maybe about 6 times a year and though I drink almost every odd day I rarely drink to get drunk, I just drink to help the flow of conversation and pubs are a good place to socialise. (the age limit in my country is 18 and i look old for my age so I've been going to pubs since I was 16, by the way)

I might get flamed for this, but I do it because I enjoy it. I think, sometimes, being really uptight about such things is unhealthy for the mind, and I think there are more important things in life than physical health. I mean, if I light up with some of my more conservative friends they're up in arms immediately and the emotional reaction is far too strong for me to believe them when they say they don't smoke because they're sensible and it gives you cancer if you do it too much. I just don't believe them. I think a lot of it is to do with an inbuilt fear of parents, the people like that seem to all have stricter parents who they can't speak openly about relationships and stuff with; ex-smokers who I know have stopped rationally because it's unhealthy don't have a fit whenever someone lights up, so I contrast them being sensible, respectful and inobstrusively opposed to smoking with the "OMG WHAT YOU DOING DONT YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET CANCER" (often followed with attempting to put out the cigarette) and I can't believe the latter has rational rather than emotional reasons to being against cigarettes. And being like that I think is a kind of block to learning because you're permanently stuck with a fearful respect for authority that blinds you to reality. I'd rather live with disregard to my own health than be like that. (no offense to people like that)

But hey, that's just my own opinion.

Its not good to start taking drugs. One of my mates was gona save up to go to university but then started taking drugs and now spends all her money on it and nicks about £20 off her mum nearly every day. It also changes your personality, my mate has changed so much since she started taking it.
