Been listening to them since BSSM. I'd say that, to date, Californication has been their best album. Most of the material on there is timeless. It's the right amount of everything - but its extremely passive, so you could probably get away with having it in most stores.

I've got S/A, but not had the chance to listen to it yet. Dani California floats my boat, though. So I guess it's all good.

Rock Sound only gave it 6/10 though :|

I like their middle days to be honest. A lot of people complain they're just not funk anymore. But really, they've grown up as individuals, as well as a band, so their really old funk material won't appeal to them now.

Though I must say, I love Californication. I think nearly every song on that album hits the right buttons every time. I really do like the more, mellow and harmonised RHCP compared to the funk days - Yertle The Turtle and the likes.

With BTW, I like the later songs on the album to chill out to, but Can't Stop and Universally Speaking still make me jiggy. Lmao. Throw Away Your Television and Venice Queen are some of the ones which I can never forget though.

I haven't heard much of Stadium Arcadium, but Dani California is one of those I can't help but sing and dance to. It sticks in my head. If the rest of the album is that good, I might have to buy myself a copy. :]

They've been my favorite band for 6 months. Then I got sick of them. After a while I realized I've been skipping their songs whenever they came in iTunes.
Probably because I listened to them nonstop for those months. Now I've been discovering new bands and my music taste is growing.
Anyway, I'm not telling you the story of my life, we're talking about RHCP.
So, I got the six albums after UMPP, I ordered the first three and they're on their way, and what I can say is my favorite era is the MM era, I usually go for the underrated stuff I dont know why.
I have SA, and I like it, but it's not in my top three.
I think everyone should get an album from the pre OHM era, then one from after Cali era, and that should be fine =]
