Hepatitis C. my uncle came to visit this summer and we found out that he has hep. c from an infected needle when he got a tattoo. I shared a spoon with him when we ate banana splits. can i get it from that limited amount of exposure? does anybody else have it? i looked up the symptoms and im having all of them. i guess i should go get tested....in the meantime, someone answer my questions please.

i'm pretty sure its a blood transmitted disease, but if you're really worried get tested.

"
The virus is carried in the blood, and people with the infection can pass it on if their blood gets under the skin or into the bloodstream of another person.

Examples of how this might happen include intravenous drug users sharing syringes, or a surgeon with the infection who is cut while carrying out an operation, with the blood getting into the patient's wound.
It can also be passed on through sexual contact, as the virus can be present in bodily fluids such as semen."

You mean gettin a tatoo that hasnt had a shared needle could still be infected? like wen having your belly button pierced. Can your tatoo get infected aswell:S?
I dont see how sharing needles would affect anything, its only from another persons skin.

blood gets onto the needles and then is transferred into you

From personal experience (damn my mother and father...¬¬), if you do suspect you have Hep C, go straight to your GP. There's a new treatment out for it, and apparently it's very good. I'm on it now, and hell, it knocks the woozle outta ya, but it's well worth it. Good luck! <3
