Sorry, but this will probably end up a long post.

For years now my family have been trying to get everything together to perform a miraculous immigration to australia, from the UK where we are now. I always thought this was such a silly dream until recently.

First of all my mum managed to get herself on the nursing register in Brisbane, a month or so later she got herself a phone interview and landed a job in st. Charles hospital, after which she applied for Visas.

We recently had a full medical test, and passed with flying colours with no problems, the centre that does visas have just recieved these results and everything is good to go.

So by the end of february I'll have completely left the UK for a different life.

How is this affecting me now? I'm losing the will to work in school, every time we start coursework or exam revision I just think "there's no point in doing this, I'm not going to be here a month from now". So I'm starting to lag behind in my current work a little.

I know it'll be good in the long run, but I'm having so many mixed feelings right now.

Yeah, this sucks :/

Don't feel like that. I think down here (I live in Australia! Not Brisbane though lol :P) they'll still probably look at your marks from work in the UK. And you'll need to know the stuff for studying in Australia too...

And even though you may not be in the UK anymore in a month, the things you learn will still be with you after the month has passed and so it's worth it to keep learning.

Maybe its just a bit of a midlife crisis - you say youve been trying this move for years?
Maybe they feel the same way you do about your work thinking that theres no point trying to move now because we arent getting anywhere so applying for jobs.
I think what is important is to pay attention to your work. Even if your moving, i think the work would be a useful distraction for the messy plans and also your education is important. Just because you may not be there in time for your exams (which you might) does not mean that what you should be learning now, wouldnt give you that extra boost in preparation for when you start school elsewhere. So long as you keep your concentration and support your parents in their choices, then thats the best way to go, even if it is a little difficult to do.
