    Default Recomended age for relationships

what do you reckon should be the recomended age different between 2 people going out? 1 year, 2 years, whatever. what i basically mean is, a 16 year old with a 14 year old is sort-of acceptable, but a 17 year old with a 14 year old is just wrong right?

maybe when it's as young as 14 it does matter because they arn't as mature as the older person, but i don't think it's wrong for a 17 year old to be with a 14 year old, maybe an 18 & 14 year old is.
if both r mature enough for the relationship then i don't think age should matter.

I think 2 years is enough. When it's 3 it gets difficult. I mean, no offence, but it's a bit weird an 18 year old with a 14 year old. THey might get into all sorts of problems. The 14 year old is 2 years under the legal age for sex, the 18 year old is 2 years over. I'm sure the 18 year old would want to be having sex and going out drinking and clubbing at that age but the 14 year old couldnt. I think 2 years is enough.

Below 20 if theres an age gap its best at 2 years at the max really, almost up to 3 if its REALLY worth it, other then that then its not gud.

When both are over 20 then age gaps really dont seem as big lol, jus when in teens, its best keepin em small as poss.

    Same as Bob really.

I've been out with a guy who was 16 at the time, he's nearly 17 now. Even though older guys seem more mature, it's hard, because the older they are, the more intent they are on having sex, because it's legal for them. I know they say 'Oh, you should be ok with an older guy, because if he respects your choices, then you're fine.' But for me, if the guy wants to have sex, he'll have it. Either with cheating or banging his girlfriend. Most girls I know don't really care tbh. They seem to think the older a guy is, the more experienced he so, so better for it. But I think, if a girl goes out with an older guy, she has to accept that he's going to want to have sexual relations, whether it being full on sex or not. It's up to the girl to choose what she does if she goes out with him, but a lot just do whatever the guy wants.

But yeah, 2 at the most, 3 if it's really really worth it! Becausethe younger you are, the bigger difference a year makes.

Right lol...me and my best mate have said this since we were like 13:
when your 14, oldest you should go is 16, and youngest 14. (for the girls)
    visa versa for boys!
when your 15: 16-18 year olds (we didnt say 15-18 as boys that age were so imature that we knew)
when your 16: i still agree with this, i would go for 16-19 year olds!!

I don't think age matters between two people. My dad is 10 years older than my mum!! And some girls are older than guys when they date together. As long as you are happy with each other.

That's not the point though. When you get past a certain stage in your life, when you are much older and mature enough to make decisions it doesn't really matter the age. When you are 14, 10 years difference in a relationship is way too big. Whereas if you are 40 then it's a completely different story.

MY friends mum is about 42 and her partner has retired and is like 67 or something so...meh

Yeah i agree with that, once you get past a certain age it doesnt matter......although i dont think i'd go with a guy more than in the year below me at school!
One of my ex's was like 2 months younger than me.

Put it this way. I am 16, the youngest I would go out with is 15 and the oldest probably 20. I think girls do tend to like older guys though.

    I'm 17.

The youngest I'd go for EVER would be 15...and that's pushing it.
Oldest would have to be 23+.

lol jus been having the same discussion on another board

i think that guys can go out with girls younger than them, but only 2/3 years younger
i wouldnt go out with a guy younger than me, theres loadsa reasons why, its jus something i wouldnt do

you lot are all talking about guys and girls who are still young like 16 or something
think about all the other people who, like FUZZUM said, are married with loads of years between them

as far as young people go girls shouldnt go out with guys younger than they are!!!!
guys can go out with girls who are 2 years younger than them

    ----------------------------

iv been going out with my bf now for a year and a half

we met when i was 16 (for jus 2 days lol) and he had jus turned 18
most ppl on the other board have a problem with that becasuse we were these ages when we started having sex !!

theres my two cents anyway lol

I believe that in hte long run it doesn't really matter, but I do think that when you have these 80-year-old men with 20-year-old women it is stretching it.
