    Thumbs down Burns

I burnt my arm on the bain-maree (hot box) at work the other day. I have a massive burn-blister over the burn. It was lucky there was methylated spirits around at the time I burned myself otherwise it would be worse. I dosed the burned flesh with metho and all was good. I have since sufferend no pain!

    What burns have you got?

well... many a burn, many a story... this is all due to my lack of self awareness and care for things/ in the past i have; burnt myself on a souldering iron [more then once], burnt myself on a real iron, burnt my hand on a stove top, burnt my hand tending to the house fire [occured many times a few years back, i have now mastered the fireplace. i burnt myself when replacing screwheads ina powerdrill [only minor but equally cain] i recently burnt the inside of my mouth when drinking soup which i had been told was cold but, alas, was not *tear* that resulted in my mouth blistering - no jokes, a whole week where if i ate something course, it would rip the roof of my mouth open [the pain THE PAIN] - i have vague memories of burning myself on many other tools at my dads work [a metal factory] but too many to remember on machinery i dont know the names of. hows that for a starters list petey? - do you want me to list my scars aswell lol - i have maybe 3 times more of them...

I am always burning myself on either my straighteners or our old fashioned oven (which we have recently got rid of) though I never have any visible scars (thank Gawd)

Most doctors would tell you not to use creams for burns, unless it's only a small burn like on your finger or something, anyway.. You say you have blisters from it.. They are best left to burst of their own accord, or to dry up naturally. Large blisters, especially if on the face or legs or arms, often benefit from a medical opinion, in case they get infected. Any signs such as worsening pain, reddening of the skin or swelling in the area of a burn can indicate an early infection. This can be a serious complication that would require medical advice. Most burns will heal well with minimum treatment but sometimes leave a small area of new skin. This can be quite sensitive, especially to the sun, and it is best to protect any such scarred area with a high sun protection factor.

Need to know more, Ask!.. Hope you recover well!
