Re: Uk government
Im not very political but I do think theyre goin the wrong way about things.
Hell I work in a government department, so we get a lot o news an stuff on the intrenet about goings on, and I saw a while ago that theyre makin it so ex convicts get put to the front o the job queues.
As apparently givin em an "equal" chance at gettin a job will stop em re-offendin.
So now, a good average guy, goin to look for a job at a jobcentre, will now havto suffer being lower priority to someone whose just come out of prison.
lol.

Re: Uk government
We haven't had a member of the cabinet resign due to drinking problems. The person in question was Charles Kennedy, the former Leader of the Liberal Democrats. (stabbed in the back by his own shadow cabinet) He resigned not because of his drinking problem, but due to the sharp decrease in confidence he held within his own party, and the fact many of his MPs signed a motion saying they would resign from his shadow cabinet if he didn't resign. Despite all his wrongdoings, Tony Blair is one of the most successful Prime Ministers we've had. There will never be a Premier that has full support from his electorate, but his authority is slipping, as Gordon Brown's is growing. He has a small majority in Parliament (67) meaning that only 34 of Labour MPs have to vote against his Act to reject it. These are turbulent times, The Tores have a new leader in David Cameron, just as right-wing as the rest, but good at hiding it. We have a double-act as PM, because Gordon Brown has more power than the PM, and the Liberal Democrats are still finding their parliamentary feet.

Re: Uk government
I wouldn't say Tony Blair is useless. If he was useless, would he have been voted Prime Minister for the third time? No, of course not. He's a far better option than any Tory. The tories only care about the higher class and the privileged. Labour is the party

Re: Uk government
I'd take Blair over Cameron or Campbell(possibly, look's that way) any day of the week. The fact of the matter is, people are finally realising that New Labour is getting old, fast, some of these motions they are looking to pass are way past the socialist/liberal ideology of yester-year & are looking more conservative than anything. Keep doing this & Labour will go down the shitpan with a bump.

Re: Uk government
personally speaking i think all prime ministers make stupid promises that they hardy keep too, thats just so the get elected and i think the country is foolish enough to fall for it over and over again, we have so many conspirays either in our country or involving our country, i mean look at the iraq war, did we even find those stinckin bombs, NO!
I think its about time we had someone who works for their country and actually listens to the average guy.

Re: Uk government
Tony Blair does listen to the aveage guy. The Labour party do listen to the average guy. Labour goes and the tories come in. They won't listen to the average guy. They take care of the rich and the privileged and that's it.

@ danster: Name me ONE 'stupid' promise Tony Blair made, without using ANYTHING to do with the Iraq War(even then, we did get rid of a repressive regime in the country where free speech wasn't even heard of in the last 20yrs).

Re: Uk government
iraq war is always the best point to bring up, my cousin went out and worked and risked his life for a cause which was fake, and i dont appreciate the fact that our governemtn and our country would allow such a stupid thing, everyone wanted the troops to come back home, but the governemtn wouldnt allow it. so they dont listen to the average guy when it is most important.

Re: Uk government
I pretty much agree there.
My music teacher is part of the TA, she's a corporal. And she was away in Iraq for 6 months the other year. We missed her a lot, and our music diminished while she was away. When she came abck we were all really relieved.
The guy at the end of my road is going out to Iraq soon. I don't see why they're still sending our troops to Iraq. I thought it was over?..Luke - Saturday was mega!!! Whens the next un? says:

Re: Uk government
See you can't even find anything to scrutinise the Govt for so you instantly jump back on 'Iraq War trail'.
Why is the Iraq cause fake?
I'm sorry your music teacher left Fender, but I think the re-building of a democracy is more important than learning 'why McFly are shite' love.
The Govt isn't corrupt! That sentence is...err....complete bullshit.
@ Fcuk: I agree John Major was one of the worst PM's ever, but since then the Tories have really changed there ideology & Cameron is very liberal on a lot of policies.
