    Default The Tudors

Anyone else watch it yesterday? I thought it was good, although Wolsey was portrayed badly in my opinion.

It's a series (with a second coming), it's one of those dramatized attempts to sex up history, like Rome.

Aww I'm gutted I missed this. Chances are I won't see any of them. I love them sexing up history. I mean I know half the time its not accurate, but I still love it.

Saw a trailer to a film about Elizabeth I the other day with Cat Blanchett in it, can't remember the name but I was like literally having kittens right there in the cinema, i'm so excited.

    And I properly LOOOOOOOVE Rome.

And I'm a history student, so anyone who is gonna be snobbish about those programs can fuck off. You have to take them for what they are.

Agreed. And I think this one is very accurate really. I don't like how they intepret Wolsey, but many historians have seen him like that so its fair enough. And they get the king right as someone who enjoys himself, sees himself as a warrior prince, and will not except people failing him.

I'm lucky because the history module I am doing currently is on Wolsey and the early part of Henry VIII's reign, so this matches perfectly for me.

I love it when that happens. I tried to convince myself watching Gladiator (with Russel Crowe) and Rome, were revision for my Roman aracheology module last year. Not true at all but never mind.

Henry the 8th was a sex god. He couldn't climb up his own stairs, but nevertheless, he was a Sex God.
I wonder if I can resurrect him and become his 7th wife. He seemed to like Katherines, hence marrying 3 of them, so maybe he'd like a 4th *wink wink*.
    Yummy..

Personally, I didn't really enjoy 'The Tudors'. It wasn't as good as the previous shows that they've done but that's just my opinion =] I found it slightly boring.
