City of Ember! 10/10/08!!!!

Hey guys!

There’s a movie coming out in early October called City of Ember (http://www.cityofember.com/) that’s going to be amazing. I’m the official online ambassador for this film and really wanted to share with all of you some exclusive, high-quality screen captures. I’ve been talking to Shane over the past few days about finding out the best way to share these with you and he suggested starting this official thread Teen Forums.

He seems really excited about them, and thinks you guys will really like them too! First I’ll give a little bit of the background info on the movie:

Film synopsis: City of Ember is an action/adventure movie being released by 20th Century Fox and Walden Media (Chronicles of Narnia), based of the critically-acclaimed book by Jeanne DuPrau , and adapted by Caroline Thompson who also wrote the screenplay for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and other films directed by Tim Burton. It stars funny-man Bill Murray and it’s directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House, Oscar nominated). It’s going to have the same thrilling, suspenseful chase like the movie National Treasure (Nicholas Cage) that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until movie ends. It comes to theatres 10/10/08.

Lina Mayfleet (Saoirse Ronan, Atonement) with the "Instructions of Egress" that unlocks the mystery to finding a way out of the City of Ember.


Gives you a good idea about the set design-- Martin Laing (Titanic, Pearl Harbor) really gave the movie an epic and unique post-apocalyptic aesthetic. Another tidbit, it was filmed in a former paint hall in Belfast, Ireland's Titanic Quarter. Other filming sites included England, Romania, Prague and Berlin.


Bill Murray plays Mayor Cole; I'm really looking forward to his work in this film! He has such great comic timing, and I'm sure he'll do well to make this film good for all audiences, young and old.

Sounds pretty interesting. I'll have to read the book before I see the movie though.
