I'm all for it. Like stated above, if they're happy then why not?

They're generally really nice people. A few of my friends back in NY are gay.

how people choose to live their lives is their choice.if they wanna get married then fine, but the situation changes when they wanna adopt kids, i think straight couples should have priority because i think a child needs both a mother and father figure in their life.

I know it sounds stupid, but don't you see in them couples, even though they are of the same sex, they play a part as a male and female? One of the women is usually very masculine or the male is very feminine. I think just as long as the person acts as the role they have to the child and loves the child as their own, there is nothing wrong with adoption.

And as for the marriages, if the couple love each other and want to be together it should be just as approved as a normal marriage. Why should a certain sexuality be subjected to ridicule just because they feel a different way than what people have always seen as 'the right way to be'? Where I go on holiday there are a lot of lesbian couples, and members of my family start smirking and saying 'Oh, do you think them two are a couple?' and I turn round to them and say 'What do you find so funny? They're just normal people like everyone else, they are just attracted to the same sex. People can't help emotions or sexuality.'

One of the worst things I have ever heard though, is a woman my mum knows of. Her son took the courage to go and see her and talk to her off his own back to tell her he was homosexual. She turned round to him and said 'If you chose to be gay then you're not classed as my son anymore.' When I heard that, I practically broke. That poor guy was brought up to adore his mother like nearly every other child, and she disowned him, just like that, because of who he was. It really takes a heartless person to do that i think. He must have been devastated

But back on topic, I'm all for one-sex marriages!!

I completely agree with fender chic I couldn't of said it better myself. I have been born into a gay family my moms twin is gay and she has been with a certain women for pretty much since I can remember. If they chose to get married I would be more than happy for that to happen.

Yeah but thats ur mums twin.
If u got adopted and u grew up with same sex parents, theyd be so many rumours and taunts from everyone. I mean right now, i know a girl who majority dislikes and is afraid of, cause she apparently is a lesbian. There are people out there who have different opinions and will make life difficult for those kids, and them themselves may feel left out in those younger years.
I mean if everyone had a dad and mum and u were the only one with same sex parents ud be confused and everyone will be like "how come ur parents are such and such" then as u get older, people will gossip about it.
But ive gone off the topic.
I have nothin against people who are homosexual, i see them as everyone else, and if a male and femal can get married, then so can they.
Marrige is based on love, not what sex they happen to be.

I could care less if Gays and Lesbians were married. It really wouldn't affect me. So I say give them the right to marry.

But like manutd 4 ever said. Same sex couples raising kids? Thats a bit silly isn't it.

I'm for it; there is absolutely no reason that people should be restricted a marriage liscence based on the gender of their partner.

Regarding gay adoption and raising of children: studies have shown that children raised in gay households on average do equally or slightly better than peers raised in straight households. Honestly, though, why should anyone be denied to raise children? Because the children will be taunted? That's ludicrous. It's like when people were trying to argue against interracial couples having children because the children would be ridiculed for not fitting into one race. You solve the societal problem by fixing it, not by hiding it.

but the situation changes when they wanna adopt kids, i think straight couples should have priority because i think a child needs both a mother and father figure in their life.
Which is why they've banned single mothers from raising children alone, right? Regardless, there's no surplus of parents trying to adopt. There's currently no reason why every good home (straight or gay) should not be able to adopt. If you stop gay adoption, that just means kids who will never be adopted: not kids who will instead be adopted by a straight couple.

If both are happy with it what's the problem? What I've never understood is that we make all these rules and laws saying that everyone should be treated equalley, yet when it involves gays/lesbians all the sudden those rules don't apply?

I have to disagree while there is issues such as how the child will be treated later in life there is also another very good thing about being adopted by homosexuals. If a child grows up with homosexual parents they are probably going to be more accepting of gays/lesbians. The more people that we have growing up tolerent of homosexuals the less our children will have to worry about issues such as gay/lesbian marriages.

same until your talking about kids.they have the right to have kids in thier family and they do just fine with them in my opinion from what i've seen my sis and her girlfriend do with my younger nephew.I agree with the person above completely.I grew up with my mom and her boyfriends and believe me you have a lot more issues with straight parental figures then gay ones. With gay marriages you don't have to worry about your spouse leaving because in most cases they are very loyal.(exspecially women)
Me my choice is that i'd prefer to be with guys.
