The different elements in the logo symbolises different aspects of the Youth Olympics:
1. The Youth Olympics is held on 2010, thus the Blue and Black parts form the digit "10"
2. However, if the Blue and Black parts are viewed together with the yellow regions, it forms the letters "YO" which stands for Youth Olympics; and it is also a from greeting, giving guests from all over the world a warm welcome.
3. When the Blue, Yellow and Green parts are viewed together, it forms the numdber "45", which signifies Singapore's 45th year after independance, in 2010.
However, when the entire logo is seen together, the logo shows a running youth with her limbs high in the air, welcoming the youth atheletes from all over the world, and at the same time enhances the spirit of youths. The 5 different colours on the logo signifies the different races in Singapore, summing up to racial harmony present in the society, as well as representing the 5 different continents (like the Olympics logo).
We warmly welcome these youth olympics, wishing them all the best!
