Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
Well?
No, they didn't.
The team of astronauts thats consisted of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong never did land on the moon. Armstrong WASN'T the first person to step foot on it. It was staged. USA were desperate to win the race with Russia, they staged the whole thing in a studio.

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
ok the person who posted this is correct, it was staged. take a look at these videos from the moon landing:
http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=moon+landing
look at the one entitled Moon Landing that is one down from the top, on the right hand side. then look at the one that is 5 from the bottom on the right entitled 'Moon Mission Apollo...'
ok now youve look at them there are some things i should point out. firstly yes we were in a race against the russians to get to the moon. secondly, there is no wind on the moon, so why in every image, does the flag wave and stay up straight. thirdly shadows on the moon are hardly visible and very different to on earth, so why are their shadows so easy to spot and well defined? and lastly if neil armstrong was the first man on the moon, then why is there a camera man stood there filming him taking 'the first step'. These days when a government offical blinks, theres a conspiricy. There are thousands of things that people are either too neive to realise or just dont have the facts or dont beleive them, but the truth is the government pulls the wool over our eyes every day and no one notices. conspiracy all the way.Last edited by me1 : June 12th '06 at 11:08 AM

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
The flag moves for a start. How? There's no oxyegen = no wind on the moon to make the flag move.

I remember me science teacher on about this once, not sure what i believe mesen, nor do I really care but it is a valid discussion, and what they said about the flag and stuff is strange.

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
This is actually one of the few conspiracies that I believe has some truth to it.
Stars would appear on camera.
The flag would not be blowing in the wind.
Scientifically this theory proves to be true.
I do believe that we made it on the moon first. (We did have the technological capabilities by then) but I do not believe that it was Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin who made it.

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
Okay, here, read this, aaaaaaallllll of it, it explains every one of the criticisms that has been brought up here. I just spent the last 30 minutes or so reading it, it explains how the flag 'appears' to move (it actually doesnt) and how it appears that there are no stars (next time you are in a brightly lit area, look up at the night sky, it is really hard to see any stars at all, same thing on the moon it seems) This Wikipedia thing is a really intersting read, enjoy:

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
There are two pictures on the link that i posted (near the bottom of the page), clearly showing that the flag doesnt move in the time that it takes one of the Astronauts to move his hand from above his head to his waist. I just appears to look like its moving while they try to plant it in the moons surface because of the creases in it. Hell, this isnt me saying all this, read the website, it clears everything up.

yer but does it tho, a conspiricy is exactly that, a 'clear up' or cover up of the governments lies.

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
That is probably due to the fact that back then most people had Black & White TV's so what would have been the point in broadcasting in colour?
And i just watched two different types of video's of the moon landings, in one the flag was perfectly still (it wasnt plastic either, because they moved it with their hands as they were setting it up) and another that showed it flapping in the wind. Funnilly though, all the footage that ive seen where it moves is in colour, i havent seen it move on a B&W version."Opinions are like Assholes...Everybody has one" - Dirty Harry

Re: Conspiracy: Did America land on the moon when they said they did?
I have.
I didn't believe it at first but my grandparents have said that the video is accurate (Granted they may not have the best memory in the world)
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we didn't beat the Russians to the Moon. I'm just saying that we didn't do it when we said we did.
You have to look at the time period the "Cold War" was at its boiling point.
The Korean War in the early 50s had ended in a stalemate.
Public support for the War in Vietnam had dropped due to the Tet Offensive (Although the United States technically won that battle)
The CIA (Still a fairly new foundation) was still taking baby steps while the KGB (Which had been around since shortly after the Bolshevik Revolution) was meeting with numerous success (Although they lost most of their "intelligence wars" in Southeast Asia and Western Europe during the 1960s)
The United States backed down in its promise to provide to the Cuban rebels during the Bay of Pigs invasion, thus resulting in the complete annihilation of anti-Castro forces in Cuba.
The Bay of Pigs would eventually lead to the Russian failure that was the Cuban Missile Crises, but the American public was now afraid.
On top of all that Russia was, for the most part, winning the Space Race. If the government didn't react soon the United State's reputation as a powerful nation could be destroyed.
We can never be 100% sure on this matter, but it seems like there is enough evidence to support a conspiracy theory.
