Re: pure or freestyle?
I can't really do any flips or any other major freestyle move, so i think my answer maybe biased
I think i will have to go with pure pk
I believe there just making up all this freestyle none sense so they can make more money and in the process destroying what parkour is ment to be about!
What about you what do you think?

Re: pure or freestyle?
i agree with you...its jus another way for UF to exploit the increasin popularity of parkour to make more money...it defeats the idea that in parkour 'there are no useless movements' the idea is flow not tricks.

Re: pure or freestyle?
Pure Parkour. Even though it is always nice to encouperate a few flips handsprings ect as long as it is fluid and fits in sutibaly with the run.
And about the U$F. well basically they dont give a shit about other tracuers there just in for the money, Its all money, money, money.
Oh and is also like to say. Kerbie (john kerr) has left the Uf krew. Not sure why but its probably due to the hate that U$F has created on itself. Thankgod Kerbie wooo hoo

my reply to a mindless comment, from a topic we discussed on northern parkour, about prist or freestyle

i strongly disagree with people calling flips parkour

who cares if its not parkour? it doesnt matter!
its not like youre going to go out jamming for the day, doing pk, then suddenly stop, and announce the fact that you are crossing the boundary and are briefly stopping pk to do a completely different sport...
come on...
theres no need for all this! we're just out to jump around and enjoy the way we interact with the environment, it really doesnt matter!

Re: Purist or Freestyle?
ok so i guees its upto david belle to decide wat pk is, and youre saying we're not allowed to do other stuff? i guess we should ask his approval each time we think about doing a move.
some people say that theyre annoyed when people claim flips are pk, which i guess is ok, but theres no need to tell people wat theyre not allowed to do on jams or put into a video.
flips are cool, they feel good, theyre nice things to be able to do, like every parkour move. im not saying flips are better or you should be able to flip to be a traceur or owt daft like that but i just cant see why everyone has to kick up a fuss over wat other people enjoy doing.
theres lots of completely useless stuff we do on jams that arent struictly pk or trickin' like the bar spinny thing me and you were doing shane lol. we had fun improving the move, felt good about doing it, enjoyed furthering our techniques by watching eachother try it and theres nothing wrong with that.
me and will always get a shit load of parkour done, we go off and train properly, you tend to stick around with the donny lot who do nothing.

Re: Purist or Freestyle?
exactly, he makes out the point ive been trying to make
my statement is: "flips are not technically parkour, but they are fun, i don't mind doing them during parkour sessions, i don't mind other people doing them in parkour sessions, i like seeing them in parkour because it adds to the whole different movement thing (even though there is no real benefit in movement, it just looks good) im not saying flips are better than parkour. i don't see why people have a problem with people doing flips in parkour, although i would disagree with someone who said that flips are parkour, however i would also disagree with someone who said you can't do flips in parkour. i enjoy learning flips the way i enjoy doing a new jump or doing a new catleap or whatever, it's not the same but there's no reason for me to not do flips, it widends your opportunities."
or something like that

Re: Purist or Freestyle?
He actually says its not REALLY part of parkour, if a flip is used effeciently and is fast then it IS parkour but this rarely happens.
