Rocky Balboa Trailer

Here's the trailer for the SIXTH Rocky film, entitled: Rocky Balboa, to be released this Christmas.

The plot sees Rocky, now widowed, coming out of retirement for one last fight (how many times have we heard that before, lol).

It looks pretty good, but it'll be interesting to see if Sly can pull off the Rocky physique, especially considering his age now.

It looks like it has potential but it could also be fairly routine.

I mean wasn't beating the Soviet Union's strongest man and saving the reputation of the free world (Rocky IV) a good enough ending?

Newflash: They are also planning to make a Rambo IV (Stallone's classic patriotic commando.)

This is definitley the last Rocky film by the way.

I doubt that the ending will be the same as the previous five films...

(in other words, i've read a spoiler and know how it ends...shit, lol, i hope the spoiler was a fake

And i'm so glad they are making Rambo IV, Rambo III was so delightfully OTT i'd class it as one of my favourite action films.

I'm more of a Rambo II fan.

The third one was good but its pacing was a little choppy.

Although the showdown between the Soviet tank (Rambo) and the Soviet helicopter (Russian) was one of a kind.

If you mean that he loses it won't be so bad as long as it is done in the right way.

There are two ways to have main characters lose:

1.They can do it like in the original Rocky where they have him lose with honor (He technically did lose in the original).

2.Or they can have a match where he doesn't stand a chance and have the whole fallen hero thing (The first match against Clubber Lang in Rocky III).

Either of these ways is fine it all depends upon what type of movie they are trying to make. Way number one would probably be too much like the original Rocky but would do better at the box-office. Path number two may not do as well at the box-office but holds more potential when the Academy Awards come around.

If all depends upon whether the creators are after money or greatness.

Well, the rumour i've heard is that its partly one of the above possibilities, a bit different though, put it this way...its not been done in any of the Rocky films before.

I would post the rumour for you, but really you are best off avoiding it, as it would ruin the film for you.

I really cant see this film winning any Awards though, the first one did because it was the first of its kind, this is hardly an original concept after 6 films.

Just because the concept isn't original doesn't mean it won't win awards.

Raging Bull and Million Dollar Baby are both true stories yet they are very similar to Rocky when you get down to the bare basics of the storyline. Both of those films won the Best Picture Award.

Do I think this movie will win awards? No. Is it possible? Yes.

The way I see it is that if a mindless action flick like Rambo II can get nominated for a special effects award then this film getting nominated for something is possible but still 99% unlikely.

Yes, sequels usually are terrible but if done correctly they can be great.

Yeah, i'm not arguing with that, my favourite film is a sequel (Aliens), i just highly doubt that this film will get any awards.

I don't think it will win any awards either but it's not impossible.

People were saying there was no way Rocky would win any awards and it ended up going all the way (Best Picture Award).

Rocky IV should have got the "Best Line of Dialogue" award for Dolph Lungdren saying:

"I cannot....ummm...be defeated!"

I dont know how any of these films could be nominated for "Worst Film of the Year", i love all of them. Sure they got a bit repetitive after the third film, but its Rocky! so its okay

Also, the ending i read about was false, thank fuck for that, lol.

I personally love the fourth. For some reason a have a weakness for those cheap patriotic/propaganda films from the 80s.

Yes they are a bit repetative. Rocky III is basically parts one and two condensed into one film.
