New Member Tips
Post tips here to help out new members.
Here are a few from me:
- Make sure you click on the link in the validation email, this is V. important if you want full access to the site!!
- Get active in anything that interests you, if you cannot find anything to post about then always remember the NEW THREAD button is there for that reason!

- Get yourself an avatar by Going to the User CP Then clicking on Edit Avatar, this will get your posts noticed more by others and will also help you to become unique and stand out amongst others. Sometimes people will look for Posts you have made ina thread, having an avatar could be a great help to them.

- The same thing can also be done by adding a sig to all of your posts, this is alos in the User CP then accessed by going to Edit Signature.
- Post sensibly. Sure, its ok to reply to thinks and saya few words sometimes, thats all you might have to say but remember to keep all posts on-topic.
- When starting a new topic it may help to not only post what it is about in the Thread title but also to post about that subject somewhere in your post. Some people may forget what they are looking at if they have left the computer and it will be more obvious if it pops up somehwere when they are reading through the thread.
- Don't come up with random posts in the middle of a thread such as 'Hi, my name is..., Do you want to talk??', this will make you appear immature and most users will ignore you if you continue to do this. If you go really over the top doing this then you will be WARNED, then BANNED!
- Post an introduction in the Introductions Forum, this will help members here to get to know you and give you the chance to get aqquainted with them too. Remember that it is good to check up on your Introductions thread all the time, regardless of how old a member you are as new people may Introduce themselves to you via it.
- Remember that there are a huge number of sub-forums that can be found by clicking on one of the main forums on the Forum Index Page, you will find even more threads/topics in these and it will give you a wider option about what to post about and where to post it.
- Upon hitting 50 posts you will become eligable to request an avatar and signature creating in the graphics forum. Having custom avatars and sigs. will help you to become noticed even more.
- You may also want to consider uploading a profile photo so people will know what you look like. I find this often makes me feel more comfortable, just simply because I know what the person i am having a discussion with looks like!
- There is a Forum for SPAM, so use that, not the rest of the site!
- Unless you openly admit that you are a chav or are not bothered about being called one then please, oh please dont use TXT TYP!

Re: Tips to become a ♥ed member!!
You may want to add something about people promoting their own sites for their own personal profits. Like on the older site we had an amandasmith and a Tara promoting some site whos url I kept editing. A warning issued first, further occurances resulting in a ban?? It saves the mods of the particular forum time in editing/deleting their posts. Yes, no, maybe so? Jesus is with you on this one...

Re: Tips to become a loved member!!
Have a forum made for links to other good sites?
Then any people have got they can lob in there, anyone who comes in and puts one up can be also put in there.
IF they start spammin it everywhere they can be warned about it and told theres a forum for it, and if they carry on, ban the fockers

Advice for new members
new members posts i've been told are being ignored. so here is a bit of advice.
edit your profile. include an avatar, write about yourself (biography, post in popular threads, don't become irritated by the fact that people are ignoring your posts, if you post more and have an avatar you stand out more and will get more replies.
any more advice to new members please post.

Re: Advice for new members
Here is a listed I posted in another forum. I will be posting this ina few introduction threads after I have tweaked it a little bit. it will aslo be emailed to every member.

- Start more new threads. Even if you think they are really stupid or even boring, you will get replies. If people see you starting threads then they are more likely to recognise you and take you into consideration.
- If you dont have an Avatar then get yourself one via the User CP. People with avatars get alot mroe replies becuase it attracts eyes to their posts.
- Dont use light fonts whilst posting, people will just scroll straight past anything you say.
- Get yourself a signature, anything will do even a peice of text, just dont make it too big or you will annoy people.
- In general discussions dont post things that are paragraphs long, alot of people just cant be bothered to read them unless its in a debate or a review type discussion.
- Dont troll. In other words dont post JUST to get on peoples nerves.
- Give a little information about yourself in your intorduction thread. People reply to it, keep it active as long as you can. It's THE best way for people to get to know you. I see lots of threads they jsut say "Hi, I'm New!" and are never even read again by the very person who started the thread in the first place. The Metting Place is for getting to know people.
- Hell you can even start arguements with people sometimes, virtual playfighting is always good too. Checkout the Roleplay Forum for that wickedness.

Re: Advice for new members
You can now use the following code to give Members advice.
[tip]insert custom title for advice here[/tip]
That displays this:
insert custom title for advice here- Start your own new threads. Even if you think they are really stupid or even boring, you will get replies. If people see you starting threads then they are more likely to recognise you and take you into consideration.
- If you don't have an Avatar then get yourself one via Your Account. You will get a lot more replies because it attracts eyes to your posts.
- Dont use light colored fonts whilst posting, people will just scroll straight past anything you say. The same goes for posting in ridiculous sized posts with a mix of different colors!
- Get yourself a Signature, anything will do, even a piece of text, just dont make it too big or you will annoy the hell out of other members.
- In general discussions don't post things that are paragraphs long, a lot of people just cant be bothered to read them unless its in a debate or a review type discussion. - If its easier to read a book than your post it's likely to be skipped by viewers.
- Dont troll! Ever! In other words don't post JUST to get on peoples nerves.
- Give a little information about yourself in your introduction thread and keep it active for as long as you can. People reply to it, keep it active as long as you can. It's THE best way for people to get to know you. Threads that just say "Hi, I'm New!" never tend to do very well, especially if you never reply to them. The New Member Introductions Forum is for getting to know people so use it to let people to get to know you.
- Argue with other members if you disagree with them, just try not to offend and make sure your points are valid. Hell, virtual play fighting is always good too. Checkout the Spam Forum for that wickedness.
- Remember to checkout the vast networking functions on the site. Profiles, Albums, Groups etc..
- If you're ever bored, checkout the Forum Arcade.
