Is this fate??

I've only ever liked 2 guys in my whole entire life. The first guy was when I was in grade 3 and I liked him till the end of grade 3. Then the second guy I ever liked was when I was in year 8. I liked him sooo much that I was totally convinced that I was in love with him and I just wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He left the school in the middle of that year but I still hadn't stopped liking him! Even though I hadn't seen him I still liked him all through year 8, 9 and then I only stopped liking him this year because I found out that he was a smoker. Let’s just say his name is Ryan*

Anyway, my parents flew to New Zealand together last week and I spoke to them on the phone last night and they told me that they actually met Ryan’s dad on the airoplane. I was totally shocked! What’s the chances of that?! The guy I’ve been totally in love with for almost 3 years dad happens to go to New Zealand the same day, same time, same airplane as my parents and happens to get tickets for the seat right next to my parents?!?! The reason my parents know it was him was because they were just talking to him and he happened to mention that he was actually New Zealandy and so my parents told them that they were also New Zealandy…then my parents talked about the school I used to go to then the man said that his son used to go there! Then he goes that he’s son actually met a girl at that school who was from New Zealand so my parents were like “That’s our daughter!!” And so that’s how they knew. And they ended up talking for the whole ride and became pretty close and so Ryan’s dad is going to stay with my parents in their apartment for a couple of nights. So I’m really hoping that they’re going to really hit it off so that when they all come back to Melbourne, my parents can actually invite Ryan and his dad over for dinner or whatever!

Do you think that this is fate or just an amazing coincidence?

I’ve been thinking about this guy almost non stop since the moment he left our old school. And after all these years of not seeing or talking to him our parents meet in the most unlikely way!!

The only two factors that are making me question whether this is actually fate or just a coincidence is that my parents actually don’t like Ryan’s dad that much and think his full of himself and the second thing is that in the next year or so Ryan and his dad are actually moving to New Zealand forever..

I don’t know what to think! What does this all mean??

Edit** I just thought of something else that's a really weird coincidence...so the reason Ryan's dad was going to New Zealand is so that he can prepare the house for him and his son for when they move to New Zealand. And the reason MY parents were going to New Zealand is so that they can prepare the apartment for when we all go down there for family holidays!!! This is all really freaky!!

Thats wierd that, out of all the planes and all the seats they ended up in that situation!!
Lets hope they hit it off over there. See what happens and if you still like him after all these years!

if Ryan hasnt changed and hes still the same good looking boy you last saw then i still wouldnt go for it, hes moving, so ur possibly never gona see him again anyway !!!

if you meet him you could hang out but i wouldnt get too attached mate, sounds like hes taking off again anyway

bet u wish u went on the plane with them!!! well i suggest that u wait and see if u want to hit off woth him try and talk to him before he comes and stays . What ever u do if he comes over to your house Never When he just comes in leave him standing about lookn nervous because most people h8 that.

Well I've always hated smokers...both my parents are really heavy smokers and both my brothers used to be pretty heavy smokers and I've seen what it does to people and it's just disgusting! And I've done a lot of research on them and had a lot of education on them in my health classes and it just upsets me that they would still be stupid enough to put themselves and me through it!! And because they constantly smoke in the house I've got the lungs of a smoker as well!! I know this because when I tried smoking for the first time with my friends, I was the only one who didn't cough at all!! It felt so natural for me...as if I'd been smoking for a long time. Whilst all my friends were coughing their lungs out and one even threw up!!!

I just thought that Ryan was against that stuff and it just made me really upset and disapointed that he wasn't...I don't know....maybe I just too picky...

Edit** I just thought about your question and I've realised that this year I was really desperate to just get Ryan out of my mind because it's been years and years since I've seen or spoken to him and I just knew that there isn't a chance in the world that I'd ever see him again so I'm just making myself upset over it for no reason and because I hadn't seen or spoken to him in years, I knew that my mind was probably just running wild and making up stuff in my mind about how perfect he was and all that..when really I probably didn't think that he was that perfect all those years ago. So I think I was just desperate to find a reason to why I shouldn't like him anymore and tehn I found out he was smoker and I was like "Bingo!" lol...but ofcourse it's not that easy to just stop liking someone, so I've just been trying to convince myself that he isn't that great.

Nah...it's more my mum who doesn't really like him..my dad reckons his funny. And they aren't sharing the apartment for the whole time they're over there. Ryan's dad is just staying with them for a couple of nights then he is going off on his own holiday.

It's funny that you say that because I thought the very same thing when my parents first told me but then I found out that it was just Ryan's dad that was on the plane. Not Ryan as well.

He's not that good-looking. I didn't like him because of his looks. I liked him because of how much we had in common and how he would ALWAYS stand up for me if anybody said the slightest negative thing to me...even if they were just joking! And I used to be pretty ashamed of how I was from New Zealand but he was so proud of his background which ended up eventually rubbing off onto me.

The weird thing is that there are soo many coincidences when it comes to me and Ryan. Like, we have sooo much in common!! Here is a list:

1. Both our last names begin with Ba (lol...pretty pathetic huh..but when you like someone as much as I did you just come up with the smallest things that you both share!!)
2. Both our birthdays are in June. (His birthday is 3 days after mine)
3. We're both from New Zealand.
4. We're both obsessed with hip hop.
5. We both rap.
6. We both breakdance.
7. We both love acting.
8. In the school production "Alice in Wonderland", I was the Queen of Hearts and he was the King!
9. Both our grandfathers have the same name!!! (and died)
10. His grandfather was some New Zealand actor or something and my parents and grandmother loved him.
11. Our email addresses are very similar...first name underscore last name.
12. We almost speak the same.
13. And this would have to be the weirdest...I got his mobile number off a friend the other day and our numbers are almost the same! Here:

My number: 0406 385 366
Ryan's number: 0406 852 367

(Obviously those aren't our real numbers but I made the numbers that are the same in our real numbers the same number in my example above...if that makes any sense)

I think you should follow your heart Steph. If you truly think you can put the smoking thing behind you and give it a go then sure, go ahead, all the luck for you. But if you couldn't cope with it, don't even try, it will only end up with you both getting hurt.
