If it was part of my culture then I suppose I'd have to accept it. I love my parents, and I wouldn't want to make them lose faith and love in me because I refuse to be or do what they want. I mean, if the guy was a really really nice man, then I don't see why a good, loving relationship couldn't be built on that.

In my culture I can marry and go out with who I want. I'm happy the way it is. But if it's your culture then it's most likely you have to accept that, everyone has a different lifestyle and is brought up differently!

I can't decide on this one. yeah we all have our own decisions to make and should chose what we want to do but at the end of the day, if it is through religion then that is the way you are going to have to be. Disowning your parents is too much. I think we have our rights. They can't force us to do something that can ruin our future and lifetime happiness. If you think you are not ready for it. Then tell them nicely.

I hate being forced into things i don't want to do. And I would definately hate being forced to marry a guy. I once knew a girl - very sweet and pretty - who was asked out by a guy she really liked.
